Good for mud and soft/lose, but don't bother if riding in a large range of conditions as it will tear and chunk on hard pack and rocky conditions.

Great tire! If you ride soft/sandy terrain you will fall in love with these tires. Michigan has a lot of sandy trails and the tire held up well.

The M12 XC and the S12 XC tires are the best all-around tires "Front and Rear" you can buy. Here in New Mexico the terrain is brutal on tires from sharp rocks too the deepest sand these tires perform flawlessly! Our desert race team has tried every brand and model and nothing comes close to the M12 XC or the S12 XC in ware and performance!

Great for early spring and late fall. But won’t last the length of two AMA races in summer months without chunking.
Great tire I will stick with it...but it still chunks

The big hype I hear about this tire is it won't chunk, well it will just not nearly as bad as all the other soft terrain tires. I ride mostly single track trails and most of the time in pretty slippery conditions, this tire hooks up better than any other I have had, it rounds off faster than most though (it is a soft so its expected). I will be sticking with this tire and know a couple other people who agree, if you want serious traction, buy it. It’s cheapest here
