Michelin S12 XC Soft-Intermediate Front Tire

Every aspect of Michelins XC-Series tires has been designed to maximize traction. Now a new rubber mixture improves durability by 25 percent, and grip by 5 to 10 percent, compared with their predecessors. The aggressive, terrain specific knob patterns bite down hard while resisting chunking. The XC-series casing is designed to absorb impacts with less rebound, so the tires spend more time on the ground – for outstanding acceleration, braking and steering. The new S12 XC tire is highly versatile and excels in a variety of terrains.

Lee Oxford,  MI S stands for Sand The Michelin S12 is the best front tire I've ever used in deep sand. I think the diagonal knobs help it cut through deep ruts without resistance. It goes where you point it. It shines in sand but works well in other environments including mud, gravel and surprisingly well on pavement. It's the only tire I consider for dual sporting in Michigan. I wish it was DOT approved.
