Item Description

Acerbis Large Capacity Fuel Tank

Tanks now come with a revolutionary gas cap for Acrbis® fuel tanks that allows refuelling without cap removal. The MDR CAP in combination with the Acerbis Speedy Quick Fill System can add 4 gallons to a fuel tank within 13 seconds. This system functions much like a dry brake and is specifically designed for race applications. The MDR CAP also functions as a traditional gas cap.

  • Dust protection cap included
  • Vent check valve seals fuel tank
  • 2 in 1 system - Speedy and traditional fill system

**Note:
  • Item is bike specific and may vary from image
  • For the Honda XR650L 97-09, the front turn signals must be relocated to use this large capacity tank, so they don't contact it when turning

**Closeouts are limited to stock on hand**

Hmmmm, the fit on a 2009 kx450 was spot on perfect for me. Here's the problem, it's the gas cap! The cap sold with this tank has a small rubber "gasket" inside the cap that is supposed to seal to the filler neck on the tank to the cap itself. The gasket is VERY light duty and only held in place by the grooved design that aligns with the inside of the cap. After 10 or so take-on's/offs the rubber "gasket" bound up and was nearly deteriorated, causing a significant leak.

Great option for a XR650L!

The tank is really nice and makes one feel much more at ease on those long forest rides! The instructions aren't too great but very helpful videos are available on Youtube.com. I especially appreciate the dual petcock to avoid having fuel trapped on one side of the tank. Some minor adjustments with the fork bolts and turn signals will help with sharp turns to prevent hitting the tank.

Great for extended range.

This tank fit perfectly on my 1999 Suzuki DR350SE and was easy to install, I will have to find prime fuel line routing in order to get the most out of the capacity though. It doubled my capacity and range, and it looks nice enough. I will never use the rapid fill system, and kind of wish it came with just a regular cap but no big deal. All in all, a great product!

What to expect.

1- the bike balance changes especially on the R. I had softer springs fitted and now i had to stiffen my suspension to counter the extra weight specifically when it is topped up. after a couple of rides all is well now and I got used to it. 2- the install was difficult when you have radiator braces but didn't have to do any measure modifications 3- the only thing that I hate is the stupid fuel tank cover. it leaks fuel all the time and other tank covers don't fit on it (like the original).

Good tank

No leaks ... everything looks good i havent crashed on it yet so i cant comment on the durability the only thing that i found strange is the piece that goes over the bottom bolt on the top side, not the one your seat hooks on to but the other one like the little metal peice on the dirtbike rubs and would not set properly (little modifaction ) and also one of the bolt holes doesnt line up very well so i only gave it a 3 for fit

Very satisfied

This tank is sweet. Its the biggest I could find for a kx450f 2007. All it came with was the main gas tank bolt, the rest swap on perfectly from my stock tank.

not easy to fit but it ok

You must be patient to fits this tank on a xr650L. With some technique and patience its ok. Looks great and now I have capacity to go for a long forest ride.

... install was not that easy. Fit was ok (good but not perfect, had to move sigal lights). Design is ok but need additional stickers to look similar to original tank...But overall it was worth to get the additional fuel capacity.

For 08's & 09's CRF450X, your bike doesn't come with the bracket underneath the gas tank. Will have to order the bracket from Honda, 07 bracket to completely tie down the new gas tank. Looks a little big but you can't even tell the extra 40lbs of gas is there at least until your friends run out. (Dunes & Trail-rider) Has three spigots (using your 1 existing) and each have reserve as well. Kind of looks like Elephant Ba((s draped over the bike from the front.

Fit well, instructions from the factory were a little questionable, but it wasn't complicated, and the speed and easy of the sale way more that made up for what the store had no control over. Best price and quickly shipped, can't do better.
