Shane Aiea,  HI Worth it's weight... The skidplate slaps right on and although it is simple in design, it takes nimble fingers to start threading the nuts onto the bolts. Needless to say, I won't be removing it very often (like for oil changes etc.). Although I haven't rammed into anything yet (rocks, tree stumps, etc.) it feels very solid and gives me peace of mind that I can ramble a bit in the trails and not have to worry about putting a hole in my engine case. It's cheap insurance. Worth it's weight...!

Jeff Scranton,  PA Nice Skid Plate - Protects Side Engine Cases This was the only skid plate I could find for a 97 KX250 that protected the side engine cases in addition to the bottom of the engine. Most other skid plates for this bike just cover the very bottom of the engine and leave the side cases exposed and vulnerable. Thanks to Devol for making this. The mounting bars were a bit tricky to hold in place, but once I got the screws started, it fit perfectly.

Don Kuna,  ID Devol - Aluminum Skid Plate for 2004 CRF250R Two days before the skid plate came I put a hole in the stator side case cover. If I had the plate it would have prevented this. With some intense desert washes and some technical trails this skid plate has already saved me time and money by protecting my engine. I recommend this to any dirt bike rider as one of the first few items to purchase for an add-on.

david sametz bucksport,  ME devol aluminum skid plate This is a good quality but light duty skid plate. It’s just right for the heavily wooded trails of Maine. I primarily need this plate to glide over logs and brush. i like the ventilation holes. This plate in a super heavy duty plastic would be just what I’m looking for.

Jeff Crowell Forest Grove,  OR Devol Aluminum Skid Plate Good price for what you get. Top portion bends in toward engine quit a bit more than the picture. The 2 bolts could be 1/4 inch longer. Hard to get threaded and 1 and a half turns and it's tight. But, it's half the price of similar protection and 100% better than the stock plastic.
