K&N Performance Gold® Oil Filter, originally developed for demanding race applications, the premium performance oil filter is rapidly becoming a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. The K&N technicians insisted they offer an oil filter that corrected the “headaches” they experienced over the years changing oil filters.


High-Flow Rate

K&N oil filters use resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. High filter flow rates are important in racing vehicles where heavier grade oil is used and the oil is pumped much faster than in a standard vehicle. When the engine is circulating oil at high GPM rates, the high-flow oil filter helps reduce the loss of pressure through the filtering process.


Compatible with the Latest in Synthetic Engine Oils

K&N oil filters are ideal for high-end synthetic motor oil. Synthetic motor oil is said to offer improved flow performance at cold temperatures while providing superior protection against thermal degradation.


Warranty

These oil filters are covered by a limited manufacturer warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and replaced using engine and equipment manufacturer’s recommended service intervals.

tommyb Port Neches,  TX k&n filter These new filters have a nut welded on the can allowing easy removal of filter with just a socket, and box end wrench ect. Also, it appears that the wall thickness of the can to be thicker, if your bike has a filter located on the bottom of the engine, as my ducati, this seems added protection, against puncture from road debris.

Adam Clearwater,  FL it's all about the nut Not being a filter engineer, I can't really say how good of a job this filter is doing. Being that it's a K&N I'm trusting in their name that its quality. What it's really about is that 17mm nut on the front of the filter...Now I don't have to ram a screwdriver through the filter and drip hot oil all over to get it off..Although the nut doesn't always hold up, I can still grab it with some vice grips

E Westbrook Albuquerque,  NM Satisfactory but a little pricey I bought this oil filter on a friend's recommendation, and because I have heard good things in general about K&N products. I later learned of some independent analysis that put it below the manufacturer's oil filters in performance, at a higher price. I'll use it for my next oil change, but probably not beyond that.
