As others have said, its a tight fit, probably caused by the black coating on the bolt head and threads. The magnetic part appears to be attached with an adhesive. If the coating is flaking off or the oil is deteriorating the adhesive I'll throw this out at my next oil change.

good plug. my engine is under 1000 miles so i wanted this to catch all the metal shavings. very stong magnet. fits great.

07 CBR1000RR. It comes coated with a black plastic coating on the bolt, similar to a rebuilt car part. I had to use my tap and dye set to get rid of this, since it wouldn't fit w/the coating. You might be able to force it in the oil pan, but you'll get plastic shavings in your pan (which is obviously bad). You might be able to use a metal-bristled brush on the bolt.

Bought this for my Ninja 250R and felt like it would need to be forced in, unlike the stock plug. Just put the stock plug back in, lesson learned.
