Don't tell anyone, but these are really good.

I've been very pleased with these tires both on and off road. Road manners are superb, no head shake even at low pressure. I'm now on my third and don't even look at other tires now. Usually get 4500-5000 miles out of one and only change because they do cup a little, but have noticed no ill effects from it. Honestly I could probably get over 6000, but with such a reasonable price why chance it.

Unstable first 100 miles

I put them in the front with Michelin t63s in the rear. My first problem is that the beaded unevenly but I took air off and repositioned the tire with a spoon and voila! Second, they sucked in the highway going over 60mph for the first 100 miles, then they suddenly stopped being Unstable and they are now enjoyable. They are great un the dirt and mud

Works well on my 990

Since this is a little different profile than the 90/90-21 spec'd for my KTM 990 Adventure, on a 2.15" wide rim, I was a little apprehensive but for the price, decided to try it. If it didn't work out, I could put it on my EXC 450. First pleasant surprise was the balance. Only needed 1 oz across from the valve stem! I then put 500 miles on with about 100 miles of forest roads and was extremely pleased with the smooth ride on the highways (up to 86mph) and the good bite on the gravely, sandy turns on the forest roads. MUCH better than the previous Heidenau K60 and Shinko 804 or the original Pirelli Scorpion MT90's. I listed my ratings compared to other tires I mentioned. Although I'm very pleased with the handling in the dirt, I would choose something else for aggressive riding in the twisties.

great commuter and offroad tire.

Great tire for off roading or doing long distance travel. Cornering is surprisingly nice for the knobbyness of the tire. At high speeds 75 mph+ sometimes can feel a slight wobble, but very minor and have no trouble running it to 100 mph.tread life is decent but around 60% you will notice it seems to wear quicker. cant complain to much though getting roughly 3000 miles before its gone. this is under very aggressive driving conditions. someone that rides easy may be able to double that mileage. cons: in wet conditions like greasy mud or grass it has little traction, and will remind you you do not have a true dirt bike offroad tire. however it does quite well for being a dot approved tire, and does conquer a variety of off road conditions very well. Overall: I would highly recommend this tire for anyone that leaves the pavement at all. covers me for just about all my riding, if i need to go heavy offroad for a weekend ill put on a full off road dirt bike tire.

Pretty good so far

Paired with Michelin T63 rear on DR200. I ran 2 T63 fronts and they got terribly cupped so I am hoping these wear better. Maybe all knobbies will do that on the road. So far they seem pretty smooth on the toad and handling is good. I haven't pushed them hard enough yet but knobbies usually fold over and handling gets ugly on dry pavement. On the railroad track sand they slide all over but confidently recover which I think is normal. They look good.

Will buy again.

Paired this front with a d606 rear and hit the rockhouse section of Hatfield mccoy in the rain. Slick clay and rocks ,steep uphills and brutal washouts. Tire did not let me down. Xr650l handled all of it. Will buy again.

Best DS front I've found...

So far, I'm 3,000 miles into my first TR-8 front and I'm impressed. Excellent traction both on and off-road, wet or dry. Running on a Husqvarna TR650, it looks like I'll be getting at least another 3K miles, easily. Only negative I've found was it took a bit to balance.

Wow

Bought this to run on my Super Sherpa as a new DOT knob. Very impressed with other reviews, and can't find any discrepancies. Tire runs very well on pavement in both wet and dry. Confidence off pavement is high, it does tend to roost in very loose stuff without any effort. For my first foray into real knobs, I'm impressed. I hope the rest of my dirt bike life goes this well.

TR8 front is awesomely-versatile inexpensive DS tire!

I run these on 2 DR650SE's. I burn slab with luggage and passenger, carve paved turns, blast sand berms, churn through mud pits, bounce whoops...this tire still lasted me around 9K miles without being reversed. If I did that, I could likely get even more mileage out of it, and I brake hard. It still gripped OK when every other center knob was worn almost to the carcass.

Holds well soft dire/ mud

Have this tire on a heavy suzuki DR650. Front end no longer washes out in soft conditions. For this bike in soft off road its a big improvement over 1/2 worn GP1. Price is reasonable.

Battle Rally front - great!

7500 km on a loaded DR650 - Utah BRDR and back. Front was new at the start, it has another 1500km left. The knobs are wearing unevenly, but I expect that from a knobby. It doesn't seem to affect the grip or handling. Overall an outstanding tire from my experience. We went through mud, sand, hard pack and soft dirt roads as well as lots of grades of asphalt. Best dual sport front that I have tried yet. Reasonably smooth and quite on the highway.

best front!

Best 50/50 front I've tried yet. 7500km on a fully loaded DR650 and 20% still left, excellent 'off road' traction, and not too loud on the pavement. Huge improvement to front end confidence off road - highly recommended.

Versatile bargain, offroad AND pavement!

The front TR8 seems to handle everything that the DR650SE is capable of pretty darn well. I like it much better in sand and mud than the Shinko 244, and it corners on pavement well too. It even runs slab quiet and stable. I wish IRC made the rear TR8 in an affordable 130/80 or 90 for a 17" rim. It appears to be lasting well too.

excellent street capable dirt tire

Now my go-to front tire for anything requiring off road performance. Put 7500 km on my first one (DR650), still has another 1500-2000km of decent tread left. Great off road, and acceptable life and grip on the pavement. Surprised at how good it is on the street for an dirt knobby of this caliber. Great price too!

TR8 front tire on DR650

I've been riding dirt bikes and DS bikes for twenty years and I've tried all sorts of knobby tires. I've owned my DR650 for eleven years. This is the best tire for the front that I've found. Of course there are more aggressive tires but they wear out faster and give more vibrations. I like a smooth ride but I want a tire with bite in the dirt. It's always a compromise, I ride about 50/50 dirt/street.
