Dunlop Geomax MX51 Intermediate Terrain Front Tire
The most commonly used tire in professional supercross and motocross, the Dunlop Geomax MX51 sets the standard in what traction feels like. Labeled as an intermediate terrain front tire, the MX51 is nonetheless comfortable in a wide variety of conditions. Motocross, off-road and enduro, this is a tire that is solid all the way round.

Features:
  • New design profile with “more volume” for excellent cornering grip and improved ride comfort
  • Recessed biting edges for greater cornering traction and rut performance in a wider range of terrain conditions
  • Tie-bar for increased block stiffness and recess design for improved medium-to-harder terrain performance
  • Unique “cross stitch” shoulder block distribution for better traction and grip in medium-to-medium-hard conditions
  • Larger radius block base for strength and increased durability

MX-51

I had a slightly worn 490 on my CR250 when I got it and the front was not to stable on high speed, slick corners. I put the MX-51 on and it bites on everything, no wash-outs, good planted feeling. About 5 full days at the track and still looks brand new

out standing

I’m 47 years old, I’ve been racing since the late 70s I have always used dunlop tires and my favorite was the d756s. Now that I tried the mx51 they are like 756s on steroids, it is unbelievable how much they grip in the corners, just to let you young guys know, when scrubbing lean a little more because these babies bite!

Saved me from crashing more than once

I had a Maxxis on my CRF 450X before my Geo Max. The difference was night and day. My Maxxis would wash out in corners, a lot. As soon as I put this Geo Max on I could feel the difference right away. Where you point this tire it goes and it rides over sand and mud, but gives you a firm grip in all types of terrain. In tight corners where I would have crashed. This Geo Max sidewalls stuck into the sand and saved me on two different occasions from crashing. I won't run anything else on my front rim. The wear life is also very good with this tire. I've had 4 hard rides on this tire and the wear on it is minimal. Intermediate MX51 Geo Max is the Bomb. My buddy rode my bike for a 20 mile loop and ordered one the next day. He said it rode on top of the sand and the turning in corners was smoother and easier than his Michelin.

MX 51 Front Tire

Ran my first cross country race and did not have one front end wash out in 32 miles, replaced and old Dunlop 756 that washed on almost every ride. Great tire!

My original tire wasn't in bad shape but I started having washouts. This tire is great and is very responsive.

Nice tire style for a front tire

The tire tread runs true with the rim (which has not always been the case when I've purchased lower cost tires). I like the tread - ridding in loose sand and wet mud - it has done well. I'm not sure if it would be a good back tire design due to the reduced quantity of knobbies? I'll have to re-evaluate when the time comes for a new back tire. Definitely would buy again for the front, plenty of knobbies for a front tire even on hard terrain.

Great tire.

This tire hooks up well! You can lean hard into a corner and trust it will not wash out. It also seems to be wearing well. Very affordable tire, too.

Great all around tire!

If you ride in all kinds of terrain then this is a great tire for you. It will give you good traction in all kinds of terrain and the rubber is so durable it will last at least 1500 miles. I mainly do dualsport rides and this is the best tire I have used. It handled miles of rocks as well as mud, dirt and gravel. Per some reviews I ran it at 15 psi for widely varied terrain. No pinched tubes.
