Worst shifter pad ever made

I put this on my motorcycle and have ridden with it on there for less than 2 weeks. Bought it originally to stop scuffing my boots. The product fit nice and snug on the pedal and I thought it was a winner for sure but man was I wrong! Already worn down on the top and bottom with a large hole on the bottom as well. Don't waste your money on this product.

POS

All people who are reviewing this product positively, either don't ride their motorcycle a lot, or had this product for just a few days before writing their review. I have SV650 and a set of boots without shifter pads on them, so they started to get a rough spot on the toe from shifting. Bought this product hoping to stop ruining my boots. It fits ok, its a sock on your shifter. Looks ugly, but figured as long as it works. Well it does work, but it works only for a week. After a week of every day riding, this product ripped apart. Don't waste your time with this, if you ride your motorcycle more than two times a year, this is just a waste of money.

First ride tore this

I didn't expect this was gonna last, but figured for 10 bucks, I'd risk it. After the first ride, it was torn. Into the trash it went. It's a good idea in theory, but unless it fit really tight, there will be some movement when you shift, which of course will cause more wear and tear.

Works Like I Thought It Would

The shifter skin worked like I thought it would. It fit over my shifter and does protect my shoes. I use it when I ride to work so my work shoes don't develop a wear spot. I did order the correct size. I have been using it for about a month and it seems to be holding up. It isn't very durable and if you slide it around when using it I could see the stitches coming out.

Not worth it!

It keeps the shoe clean, but I had a hard time installing and frayed the material. I used a zip tie to secure it. Looks bulky and cheesy. I wouldn't buy again.

Shifter Skin...

The product seems to be made with quality but it was difficult to install on "my" motorcycle. Once installed, it tends to slip around. I've also installed a couple of zip ties; we'll see.

Just what I needed

This is a great product for those that are in the military. Bought this so that my boots would not get messed up and have been very happy so far. I drive a 2010 VStrom 650. Buy it. You will enjoy it.

Don't bother, just clean your shifter

Don't bother, just clean your shifter. It rubs on the shaft of the shifter and just doesn't feel right. I don't know what to tell you other than I didn't like the feel of it or that it rubbed. If it was thinner and provided better clearance... maybe... but I'd still just clean the shifter and wear some boots. If you are headed to the gym (or anywhere else), just get a backpack and pack your sneakers/dress shoes/etc.

Shifter skin too small for my bike

But I think it is awesome, needs to make bigger size.

Does the job for a few weeks

I ride every day so perhaps mine wore out faster than it will for others, but it only lasted 4 weeks. During that month it worked great but unless you want to buy one every month I recommend finding a more permanent solution. Happy riding!

Shifter Skins

I am now on my second skin. The fit is good, installation is easy, but the quality is not the best. After a week or two the end will wear out but the rest of it stays in place. It does not have a zipper like the picture shows. Overall it does what it is supposed to do, it keeps your shoes clean. If you don't mind spending ten bucks every couple of months then it will work for you too.

SHIFTER SKINS

It was difficult to get on my shifter, but it stays up, and it ensures my shoes don't get scuffed up by the shifter. I like it.
