Sidi Quality

This is the first pair of Sidi motorcycle boots I have owned, actually, they're my first motorcycle boots period. However, I have been wearing Sidi cycling shoes for the past five years and I'm always pleased with the quality and function every time I put them own. It's this experience with Sidi's quality that led me to purchase their On Road Gore-Tex Boots. I've logged about 1500 miles in them thus far and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Excellent road touring boots

These boots are top of the line. Perfect fit, comfortable footwear, thick treaded soles, waterproof and offering excellent protection. If you do some adventure riding, these boots qualify. They can feel a little warm in the summer. I would recommend these boots without reservation.

Sidi On Road Gore-Tex Boots

I've worn my new Sidi On Road boots about two dozen times in the months of January-February due to rain and/or cold (below 40 degrees F in the mornings without wind chill). My ankles used to be my coldest body part. Not anymore! About six times I rode in cold rain and my feet were completely warm and dry after my ride. Not even damp inside anywhere. They better not be since these suckers are the most expensive accessory I have. I have only had my boots about a month and a half but I am a little concerned about how well the Velcro is going to hold up over time. Everything is Velcro so I am concerned about that. If the Velcro fasteners are still good in three years I would say this is a worthwhile purchase.

Met My Expectations

I was looking for a tall all-weather boot with good ankle support for general touring. I was also looking for lug soles that gripped the pegs and various paving surfaces. I just returned from Bike Week 2010 which was my first outing for these boots where I put about 600 miles on the odometer in cool weather. The "On Road's" definitely met my expectations for good ankle support and grip on the pegs. I found that I could rest my knees on long straight stretches of road by sliding my feet forward to where just the back of my heels were resting on the pegs. The grippy soles felt planted on the pegs and my ankles felt well supported. Since I knew I would be walking a lot at the various vendor venues, I replaced the factory footbeds with Dr. Scholls cushioned footbeds before leaving for Bikeweek, using the factory insoles as templates to cut the new insoles. With that modification the boots functioned well walking as well as riding. The cinch straps and velcro closures on the uppers gave plenty of adjustment for wearing my new all-weather riding pants (RevIt Sand 2010) either inside or outside the boots. I didn't see any rain at Bike Week so can't comment on the boot's rain resistance.

On Road Boot

After researching boots and my other waterproof/steel woven boots wore out, seven years and over 130thousand miles later, I bought the Sidi On Road because it was the only boot out of 12 tested that they soaked for over 24 hours that was still dry. They also sprayed it for over 2 hours still dry, no weight gain either in the leather. So I bought them. Price a bit much, but you get what you pay for. Actually they are less expensive then my previous boot, but not by much though. They have a heavier leather upper and can be resoled. I purchased them in March this year when the weather was a bit nippy, but had to test them. They performed EXCEDINGLY well, 300 miles later NO COLD FEET. Next couple of days 32-48 degree weather AND COLD RAIN and I mean COLD. Another 300 plus miles in this COLD/RAINY miserable stuff and these boots not only kept my feet warm, but also DRY. These boots are also nice to walk in, as I wore them all day long, and my feet were fine. These boots are just Good all-around boots. It took me about a day to break them in, The On Road, fit real good. I didn’t even need a heavier sock when it was cold, that was nice. I like these Sidi On Road Boots a lot.

Performance is everything!

These boots are a great fit right out of the box. They were warm on a 38 degree morning ride and 100% water PROOF! Not at all hot on a 77 degree afternoon ride to the Columbia River Gorge! I have absolutely no complaints. I read every review I could find on these boots from the 2008 test where they left the boot submerged for 24 hours and pulled a dry foot (Now I believe it) and after realizing that my dry warm feet were worth the money I purchased these boots. This is my second pair of Sidi boots, and will certainly not be my last. This is yet another time where you truly get what you pay for if you are on the fence believe these are the water proof boots you want!

On Road Boots Update

I recently returned from a 3000 mile round trip to Americade and beyond. Rode thru an hour long downpour my first day out. The boots kept my feet dry. They remained comfortable for the duration of the trip. The grippy soles felt planted on sandy and otherwise questionable surfaces such as at the New York Thruway toll booth window. They still meet my expectations.

Gore-Tex

These boots fit like a glove on day one. You can walk around in them in comfort, yet you stay dry and comfortable. I would get another pair of these.

Finally a real motorcycle boot.

Boot is perfect. Easy to put on, covers all of the areas from just below the knee. Comfortable. I wore this boot in 100 degree weather with no discomfort and felt no heat from the engine. If you want a motorcycle boot which will satisfy all of your needs, get this boot.

2nd Pair, never buy any other !

I bought my first pair of Sidi On Roads about 15 years ago---fantastic waterproof, comfortable. Finally wore them out after ~150,000 miles on 3 different bikes. Got a second pair--same excellent quality, worth every cent.

Thank you SIDI

I am very impressed with these boots! Stiff upon receipt, but after broken-in, they are very comfortable! Easy to put on and take off and the sizing is comparable to my normal shoe size. Performance: traveled in torrential rains for hours and my feet stayed dry; dug my way out of 8-10 in. of mud and the boots came through like a champ; traveled through difficult terrain and the ankle plate saved me from a sure break when the bike fell. Looking back, I would pay double the going rate for this boot.

Great, wish 1 inch taller

I was surprised, after reading & YT vids, how detailed the Italian craftsmanship is! I'm proud this $/detail is still affordable with respect to comparable boots. Fit is true to size for average HTW. Leather stretches/break-in will provide contour. Thanks to MCSS for great support & solutions.

Sidi onroad boots

This set of Sidi onroad boots is my 7th pair. I have always had good luck with this product. Used as long distance boots. The design has changed as far as the closer flaps. I must say I liked the old system better. I feel that the four straps makes for a better and tighter fit than the new upper closer strap. This is my first purchase form the motorcycle-superstore and I find the service excellent.

High quality, style and function

You expect a lot when you spend this much for a pair of boots. Fortunately, Sidi did not disappoint with this model and if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. Exceptional quality, fit and comfort along with the assurance of dry feet when the conditions turn wet. Near freezing temps were not a problem either. Great boots, as they should be.
