Universal Saddlebag Support Brackets

Trying to put leather bags on my 2004 HD Sportster 1200, with a sissy bar. Instructions were VERY vague. Supplied bolts were not long enough. Had to go buy my own longer bolts. I got 2.5" & 3" long Stainless Steel bolts. The 3" bolts for the back needed to be cut off to 2 & 3/4" long. I did that with just a hack saw. Do your research, look at youtube videos.

Did not work.

I got the brackets for a 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit. They do not even come close to working. Made my own custom brackets instead. Would not recommend for this years Honda.

Not bad

There's not a lot to saddlebag supports. This fit my bike, was relatively cheap and easy to install. The one criticism I have is that there were no bolts included with the kit that were appropriate for my bike (a Hyosung Avitar) so I had to go shopping for bolts.

A Little Small

Price was a huge factor. There is a price to pay for cheap. The bracket was easy to install, plenty of hardware options. I used electrical tape to wrap the joint to keep it from gouging the back of my new bags. In fairness, the bags I selected were pretty large, but the bracket could be a little bit bigger to give support lower on the bag.

Not a great product

I ordered this to mount my new saddlebags to my 2006 VTX1300s. The website said it would fit but when the supports arrived I was quickly disappointed. The brackets were far too small to protect the bags from the wheels and brakes. The hardware was correct but if I were to mount it onto the bike it would have damaged the side of the fender/sissybar brackets on the bike. I don't really recommend this product. Save some time and buy a custom bracket from Cobra.

Brackets

The brackets were a great fit for my 2006 Honda Shadow; except for the kit not coming with a long enough bolt for the rear attachment. I had to pick up a 3 1/2" bolt from the hardware store to complete the brackets. Other then that, the installation was very simple, only took about 10 minutes.

OK but.

Fitted well but have to agree that it seems overpriced for what it is.

Saddle bags

Install went well but the stays on one side ended up hitting the brake cylinder on the rear wheel. Needed to use strong arm method to bend away from bike. Should come up with better way to hold bags on bike they do look good on after all is done.

Worth Buying

Used these for my '11 v star 650 custom. I did have to bend them a bit to make them look the way I wanted them to look (which was really easy to do) other than that it was an easy install.
