Bell Star/Vortex/RS-1/Qualifier and Revolver Helmet Transitions Photochromatic Shield

This is a bit pricey but works great. Used it in full sun, rain and pitch dark and it worked flawlessly. Nice to not need to carry two also. Two thumbs up!!!

    Bell Photochromatic Faceshield

It's about time they came out with this type of shield. I wear prescription glasses. With this shield I don't have to carry both sunglasses and clear glasses during a ride that goes from daytime to nighttime.

    Love it

This product solves the problem of what to do when your sunglasses won't fit under your helmet! Love that I don't have to take them off and put them on in the middle of a ride.

I think it's the best of both worlds. You never need to change it, it works for day and night riding.

    MUST HAVE

This is the greatest shield I have ever owned. Transitions quickly, fit perfectly and is clear with no distortions. Love not having to carry an extra shield. No complaints. GET IT!

    Install and forget about it

No need to carry two shields for day or night time riding. While I wish the shield was darker during the brightest sunlight, after a month of riding with the shield, I have never had an instance where the sunlight or glare distracted my vision, including when riding directly into early afternoon sunlight. It may not be 100% perfect since I would love for it to get about two shades darker, but I certainly don't miss carrying two shields around and honestly never notice the bright sun.

    Perfect!

Just as you would expect from a Transitions lens. Very clear yet gets dark quickly. Optically clear, impressive.

    perfect except for optics

The convenience of having a transition lens cannot be overstated! That said, the optics of the shield are not perfect- while completely unnoticed during the day, at night, you do get some increased glaring of lights and mild distortion/bending of light at the periphery. If you know your trip will include a lot of riding after sunset, then take the stock clear shield with you as well.

    Great Purchase!

Its the first time I've bought something from Motorcycle Superstore and let me tell you that this helmet shield is a hell of a good one. I dont need to wear sun glasses while riding- this shield just does it all. Great visibility, and anti fog/scratch. Love it! I recommend!

    The only way to go

This is the only face shield your Bell helmet will ever need. Everything is so very clear and sharp. The perfect match for my Bell RS-1. Would recommend this shield for any Bell helmet owner that has this option.

    Fantastic Shield With One Quirk

First off: if you have a Bell, get this shield. It's one of the best pieces of gear I've ever bought and makes using my RS-1 completely seamless; you never think about how annoying shield changes are until you don't have to do them anymore. It doesn't get quite as dark as the dark smoke visors available for the Bell helmets, but unless the sun is shining directly into my face, it's dark enough. It's been surprisingly scratch-resistant as well, with the only nick in the visor coming from something I dropped on it; road debris has so far failed to dent or scratch it at all. Now for the bad: it fogs like crazy if you so much as look at it funny. If it's under 60 degrees outside, breathing at all will have almost the entire helmet fogged up, and it won't clear unless I open the visor halfway or more. In the rain, it's almost impossible to use because of all the condensation, and in the winter, the only reason I can use it is because the air coming through is cold enough to clear the fog out quickly. Despite that problem, I'd absolutely recommend the shield and if I ever scratch or damage mine, I'll pick up a new one first thing.

    Great investment

Love the way it changes. I have wanted a shield that changes like my glasses and this fit the bill. It is pricey but worth not having to buy two different shields.

    Absolutely

This shield is well worth the cost. Combined with the Bell EVO drop down inner tinted shield, I now just toss my sunglasses in with my cap in the rear case. Yes. I'd recommend!

    Worth the money

I've had it for a little over a month now. It definitely gets dark enough and transitions quickly enough. Very happy with this purchase. No need to constantly wear sunglasses, which is a plus for me.
