    Avon AV71 Front Tire

I got 22,000 miles off this tire without any degradation in performance. Far superior performance and wear compared to Dunlop.

    Don't buy!!

Tires are terrible- too soft. Put a new set on and 4,500 miles in the front is cupped and shakes the bike and cords are showing on the rear.

Best Front Tire I Ever Bought

I have tried every major brand for a front tire on my very heavy Kawasaki Vulcan2000, and this is the only one to last more than 16k miles! WOW! And the only one to NOT show any cupping! This is the best tire made for HEAVY cruisers, AND it is the best HANDLING tire as well. Made my big cumbersome bike feel more nimble and quicker to turn than any other bike. It's just the best all the way around. And Motorcycle Superstore delivers quick, fast and reliably every time.

AV71 Cobra on Big Dog Mastiff

Great tire so far! Have only put 100 miles on it, but rode up some twisty mountain roads, and it handled beautifully!

    I gave them a shot

Bought by specs. and reviews. On 1800 Goldwing, full monty traxion front & back, fork brace. Bead balanced. No passenger, wgt 160, lite load. Dual compound evident 1 in strip center stands out side walls worn cupped at each rain groove narrow beginning. Can feel in front end & transition into corners. Next season replace but won't be cobra.

    great tires

New tire for an '01 valkryie. Replaced avon venom. Great tire super grip. Only about 500 miles on it so far. I am taking it on a 2500 mile trip in a couple of week's. I will update the review after that trip. So far I am extremely happy with this purchase. Tires were delivered on time and in perfect condition. Would buy tires from motorcycle superstore again in the future. Highly recommended.

    So far i'm happy!

Replaced front and back tires on my Valk, a smooth ride and they handle great even in the rain. Don't know about milage but Cobras are the best ones I have ever ridden on! I've had dunlaps, metzlers, and bridgestones. From now on only avons for me!

I've only used Avon since day 1

Any tire that allows me to ride 50 miles with a flat in the rear and a girl on the back, traveling 50-80 mph and without knowing it until we stopped ..gets my support !! With 150 hp & 150 Foot lbs of torque on a custom chopper, they grip corners like a true champ. Especially when I go up against crotch rockets!!

    mileage

What do you guys do to your tires? Worn out at 8k miles? That was all I got out of the stock dumbflops that came on my Valk. I went with Venom R's and got something like 22k out of the first set. Second set I've got about 19k on and they still have some miles left before the wear bars indicate replacement. Still they feel like the handling is starting to change and i have a plug in the rear so I'm going to go with these Cobra's and hope they do as well as the Venom's have.

    Future owner

I know this is usually reserved for the people that have previously owned these tires but I thought I would change it up. I have been shopping around for a good set of tires to replace my Dunlops. After reading many reviews on many different brands I am Sold with the Cobras. I ordered the AV71 and AV72 for my VTX1800C. Thank you everyone for there detailed and honest reviews.

    Avon Cobra - Front

I have used Dunlop E3 and Metzler 880 on my 98 Valkyrie. The Avon Cobra is considerably smoother even at higher pressures than either of the others. I was most impressed with the wet stopping power of the Cobra, something that comes in handy in the rainy Pacific Northwest. Dry cornering is just as good if not better than the Metzler. As far as tread life goes, I have only had the tire on for a couple of weeks. I will definitely be buying more Cobras in the future.

    Avon AV71 Cobra

I've had Venoms, E3's & std. Dunlop replacements. Avon handles the best of any I've tried. Venoms were worn out at 6500 miles. Dunlops at about 8500 miles and the Cobras still look good at over 10000. I may get a whole season on my VTX 1800C with these tires. It's a heavy bike and I ride moderately hard. I would recommend these tires to anyone with a big heavy bike.
