freeway bars

Received mine today for a 2005 Vulcan 800. Installed in 30 minutes. Two wrenches 10 and 12mm. No altering of bike. Love them. Used the spacer supplied but did not have to move the horn.

Good looking bars... but...

Had more than a little trouble with fitment. Seems the holes drilled for mounting this item to my Sportster weren't quite correct. Had to augment the device by elongating several of the holes so that the bolts would line up with the frame.

Honda Aero

Installed on my '09 Honda 750 Aero. Had the same small issue as other reviewers. Brackets out of alignment, possibly due to handling in shipment. A few vigorous taps with a hammer and they fit snugly. Look great and fit well even with the Cobra floorboards. Preferred the shape and style to the similarly priced Cobra Bar.

Didn't work for my 2007 Heritage

Got the bar, loved the way it looked, fit up as far as matching hole layouts etc, and fasteners were all good. The bar hit the air deflectors that attach to the side of my forks. I took those off but it still hit the signal lights. It had a spacer between the upper frame mount and the bar and I removed it but it didn't make a difference, the bar still hit the turn signals and I couldn't move them far enough out of the way. The lower mounts that bolt to the frame were way longer, (maybe 1-1/2" - than the H-D bar that was on it), which brought the whole bar farther forward toward the fender/fork area. I'm going to go back to H-D for the bar. I considered the Cobra bar but I didn't want to pay return postage twice if it didn't fit. My bike is a 2007 Heritage Softail.
