These are the ones you need

These pipes look great! The shine really sets the bike off and the sound is classic harley. The pipe length puts the noise toward the rear but allows you to hear the rumble. I'm constantly having others come over and check my bike ot to see what I have done to it to get "that sound." I have a sportster and guys with much bigger bikes come and admire the look of these pipes. These are the ones you need.

Love the sound my bike now has.

These pipes are what my Sportster needed to make it sound like it should! I hated the way my bike used to sound with the stock pipes. No one could hear that I was around them, now if they don't see me, they at least hear me. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE HERE! The pipes are not obnoxious sounding but just loud enough, that is why they call them the "Q" series. They also look great on the bike. The front pipe route a differently though. Instead of running in front of and under the forward controls, it runs above those controls. Also, instead of two separate pipes they are all one unit. This makes it a little harder to get them into the exhaust ports on the engine heads. You really have to wiggle and twist to get them in there. Fit was a little tight elsewhere too, had to re-drill a hole in the main bracket to get the screw that holds the drive belt cover back on. I also had to stick a long pipe in the end and tweek the whole thing up to get the bolts that mount the pipes to the brackets started. All in all, I would highly recommend these pipes to anyone wanting better sound and/or looks.

Awesome pipes but took a long time to install.

These pipes sound great, and make my Harley sound like one should. As for the install, my dad and I both bought them for our bikes and it took us about nine hours to get them on both bikes. It really helped that we had a bike lift as to get underneath the bikes. Some of the holes on the mount did not line up perfectly, and had to be bored out bigger to mount the brace. Vance and Hines should make some of the holes where bolts go to have a little play to adjust. Both pipes are welded together, so getting them to line up took both of us. And it had to be just perfect, or they wouldn't mount. All in all though, I am very happy with the pipes.

Modifications may be needed

After installing the main bracket had to take off and drill a hole larger to fit one of the belt case bolts in. Can't get a torque wrench on a couple of bolts that they say to torque because the main bracket does not provide enough room to fit it and the hole that is provided to access the screw for the brake arm can't fit a socket through to torque it either. The pipes look great and the sound makes my Sportster sound the way a Sportster should sound like. Now I will be heard when they can't see me. All in all VERY VERY HAPPY!!!!!

Vance & Hines Q Series Exhaust

This exhaust is the perfect cross between loud and obnoxious and super quiet (read,H.D. Screamin Eagle Pipes). These pipes will never be mistaken for stock sound, but they will not give the rider a headache either ! These are great pipes if you don't need race results from the dyno; they do provide additional cooling by removing exhaust restrictions and they sound deep, rumbling and are what you think of when you picture a HARLEY DAVIDSON cycle ! You can expect a boost to hp. and tq. on the dyno , just don't expect the results obtainable from louder, more open, more obnoxious sounding exhausts !
