Great helmet for the price air flow rating is low because vents r small.

Love everything about this helmet. The fit is perfect for my intermediate - oval head shape. I will say it runs a little small as I needed a XXL and I normally run a XL in most other helmets. The helmet is light weight, love the magnetic cheek pads and the magnet d-ring lock. The ventilation is amazing, I ride during some pretty warm conditions and for long periods of time, the helmet vents really well. Also comes with a killer carrying case. Happy customer !

I wear a large in Schuberth helmets (C3Pro) and a large fits similarly with the Arai as well. I am most impressed with the visibility of this helmet, specifically the peripheral visibility. The peak offers enough coverage to protect from the sun and roost from the rider in front of you without compromising visibility. I do not have a problem with buffeting even at highway speed. I do not consider it noisy either - pretty quiet even with a peak. I came through a valley this past weekend and a strong side wind caught me and it did lift up on the helmet significantly, but this was a rare occurrence and was only due to the freaky side wind. I also like the incremental adjustments of the visor. It's easy to crack it just a small amount for venting which is often necessary because the helmet does not include a pin-lock ready visor. A helmet this expensive should - why supply it with a non-pinlock ready visor at all? It would cost Arai nothing to do so and not doing so costs their customers another $60+. Schuberth includes a pin lock ready visor with the pin lock shield. Arai should do the same. I wish it had a drop down sun visor, but understand Arai does not want to compromise the safety of the helmet by offering one. Fair trade for me as my sunglasses fit well. In fact, I feel no pressure on my ears as I have with other helmets. The venting is excellent as well. Other than the pin lock issue - no complaints. I love the XD-4 helmet!!

I measured my head according to manufactures chart and ordered the medium which was just barely bigger than my had according to the measurements. When I tried it on it was way to tight. I sent it back, which was painless, and got the large. As someone else stated they do run small. Overall the first helmet looked pretty abused as maybe several others ordered that size and it didn't fit either. The graphics where beginning to chip off mostly on the front mouth guard. The second one looks much nicer and the plastic bag it came in was actually tied around the base of the helmet like it never came out of the box. Much happier with my decision to return the other and go up a size. I have not had a chance to go riding with it yet but I'm sure it will perform well like any other helmet.

Great if you are looking for a cheap good looking helmet.

I opted for the hi viz yellow and never received more compliments-I thought it would look dorky but now it`s cool. Main reason was for features. The visor keeps sun out of your eyes and not even once did it catch the wind and pull my head back, you would almost have to look straight up to do that. I have driven over 1k of high speed driving and some trails, dirt roads and works great in all conditions. I always wear ear plugs so noise was never an issue, the few times I didn`t it seemed normal. I ordered an XL and some of my helmets are L and it initially was snug esp in the cheek area but after a little use it`s great. Very happy with it.
