Item Description

Firstgear Torrent Mesh Jacket

Nothing represents the versatility of textile jackets better than mesh. The fabric’s ability to provide loads of cooling airflow, while in the midst of a heat wave, without compromising safety is a quality no other jacket can boast. With mesh, there are no reasons for you to ride without protection no matter how hot the temperature.

The Torrent is an all-conditions riding jacket. Constructed with a polyester mesh outer shell, the Torrent features a full-sleeved, removable, waterproof and breathable liner to keep you dry and on your way when the weather suddenly changes. Plus, two front cargo dry pockets protect your valuables from getting wet.

Features:
  • Polyester mesh outer shell
  • Removable, waterproof and breathable fully-sleeved liner with mobile/PDA and patch pocket (so you don’t lose storage space with the liner in place)
  • CE-armor protects shoulders and elbows, plus an EVA foam backpad
  • 2 front cargo dry pockets and 2 front cargo pockets; all with easy-grip pulls, so you don’t have to remove your gloves to get into them
  • Clip your gloves onto a convenient D-ring
  • Microfiber-lined collar for comfort
  • Interior pockets including: placket pocket with zipper, mobile/PDA and patch pocket
  • Adjustable waist belt, bottom and sleeve cuff straps
  • Reflective piping front and back
  • Tough, abrasion-resistant, riveted shoulder and elbow exterior patches
  • Exterior rear storage pouch
  • 1-year limited manufacturer’s warranty

This jacket is amazing for the sale price. It is warm to 40 and cool with the liner removed when it is sunny and 80. It did not keep me totally dry in a downpour but I did not feel the hail!

I bought this jacket as my primary riding jacket and I can say that I am impressed at the quality for the price I paid (sub-$100). It comes with a removable insert that is wind and water resistant. Without the liner in this jacket lets the air pass through really nicely and during the hot summer days you can be fully protected and cool. There are pads and armor in this jacket making it extra safe and you can even fit the liner in the back pocket of the jacket (although I found it uncomfortable to do so.). There are waterproof pockets and even a cell phone holder which fit my iPhone. The cuffs have a zipper to allow more air flow to the arms which works well. My fiance also has a First Gear jacket and she loves hers as well, they are made well and fit great. They don't look too bad either!

I first bought a medium based on their chart but it looked like I was wearing my big brothers jacket. I returned and got a small. It fits great except the sleeves are a tad short but my gloves cover it so it’s cool. The hottest I've ridden wearing it is around 85 degrees without the liner and I have to say it vents great! In colder weather the liner doesn’t really do much. I was a bit chilly riding in mid 60's temperature, but it’s better than nothing though since the jacket is basically one giant vent. Love the pockets, feels very durable and not too heavy. Especially at the price their selling it for, GREAT BUY! Motorcycle Superstore ROCKS!!!

I bought this jacket mostly for the price it was $70 for a $200 jacket. The fit was good this jacket is not the best for cold weather riding but I did ride through A hail storm and didn't feel a thing! But with a hoodie under the jacket it wasn't too cold. It does have good ventilation for the hot days haven't had any to wear it in but it does seem good.

Although I've only had the jacket for a matter of hours, I've already put it through about 80 miles of testing. Awesome airflow with the liner removed, excellent wind protection with the liner in. Fit/size is accurate. Comfortable. Plenty of pocket/storage space. D-ring on left breast is perfect for hanging gloves or your keys (or your garage door keychain remote, like I've done). I'll post again after riding with it for a few weeks if anything changes or if I notice any areas needing improvement!

Nice jacket , great price. Little bulky, meaning it is the correct size, but it is still a loose fitting jacket. My Joe Rocket jacket fits better, but this seems better made. But I have not had it for long, time will tell. Zippers are hard to get started. Great layout on pockets. Glad I bought it. I am sure wondering how it works in the rain. That will be a big test.

Bought this for my kids so they can ride with me. Great coat in all aspects. Haven't had it long enough to test its durability but I see no reason that this coat won't last a long time if cared for.

Mesh material is great in warm climates. The inner waterproof liner is also nice, you can use it with any other non waterproof jacket. A little bit heavy with the liner.
