I haven't bought a new helmet in 15 years. This one has great features, fit, comfort, appearance and workmanship, at a very competitive price. Motorcycle Superstore delivered exactly what I wanted, when they said they would with a minimum of fuss. I couldn't be more pleased with the product or the service.

So far she really likes the fit and the finish is nice too. She wears glasses (so do I) and really likes the flip down shades. I wish my multitec had that.

This helmet is better than I expected it to be. I was unsure about ordering it because I didn't know if I would like a modular helmet but this one is great. I'm very pleased with the price and fit and how quickly I received it. I would recommend.

This is a great helmet. I went to a local store and tried on the regular HJC Modular so I knew the size that fit and it matched the size chart. I'm glad for the drop down sun shade. My RX glasses are transitions but will not change in the helmet due to the UV protection on the shield. This order was delivered quickly and I am very happy with the service I've received from The Motorcycle Superstore. Thank you.

This is the first time I have used a full face of any kind. I bought the silver version. I bought a large. The fit is very comfortable and the peripheral visibility is excellent. I found that with the chin guard down and the eye shield closed it can get a little warm, but just cracking the face shield just slightly it is really good. The quality is excellent and I am going to buy one for my girlfriend when she gets here from the west coast. All in all it is a great helmet for the price.

Bought this helmet about 2 months ago. Was surprised at the airflow inside the top of the helmet. The sun visor is a lifesaver! Had a couple downpours and no water gets into the helmet. The flip-up design saves me from worrying that I will sweat to death before I get on the road. Also, it is surprisingly quiet for a modular helmet. I only wish the helmet was not so big and had a wind guard under the chin. But that is probably asking too much for one helmet.

First time helmet. Tried on dozens. HJC had best fit, least rattle, most accessories. Am very pleased with sun and wind shield. Fits great with no temple or ear tightness. Highly recommend to females who need the safety without the dense weight of some. At 3.8 lbs, it is perfect.

Great helmet. Followed the sizing chart recommendation on the HJC website. The helmet fits perfectly. The only thing I would like to see improved would be a quick release replacement for the d-rings, and less wind noise.

Tried several helmets, and sent them back MSS you guys were great. Mine came in and it was a perfect fit, ordered one for my wife and she loves it as well. Lite on your head, and once you adjust the locking screws for your comfort its a very quick latch un-latch process. I actually ordered a small in this helmet instead of a Medium in others. Go some place and try them on, then order from MSS.

Appearance and style is sleek, fit is near-perfect. Really like the integrated shaded eye shield that slides into place and flips up with just a one-handed touch. First full-face modular helmet ever owned; the convenience of opening the face to see/speak with others is a great feature of the modular genre. Thanks, HJC!

This is my first flip up helmet. I love the fact that I can put helmet on with the glass still on. In addition, I do a fair amount of riding at the time of the day that the sun is sinking on the horizon. It is nice to be able to engage the sun visor without stopping the ride to change shields. So far the fit and finish seem nice and I am very happy with the purchase.

Helmet was a little tight when received. Contacted HJC and was told that cheek pads came in different sizes. Called Motorcycle Superstore and ordered a thinner set and solved the problem. Impressed that shipping was 2nd day on both orders. Like the helmet. Recommended it to a friend who also ordered one.

I have only used it a few times this fall, but can't wait for next spring. I gave the air flow a 4 as I have not needed the vents open this fall, but seeing how all the other features have performed very well I have no doubts it will be fine. The only drawback was the limit in color options, so I went with white but wanted blue. I would buy this helmet again and will recommend it to all my friends.

As an older rider, glasses fit and comfort were my priority. This helmet is tops in those two categories. I would have purchased the audio pack but the reviews scared me away. I wear some comfortable low profile headphones to my Phone/MP3 player which works very nice at or below 55 mph. I recommend and would purchase again.

I choose the HJCis Max Bluetooth helmet because I had a previous HJC Max helmet. That helmet fell apart on the moveable face plate (it was still a good helmet). This new one is a much better helmet and is made better. It fits perfect and provides good protection for my face from the sun. It has excellent visibility and the pull down sun glasses are a plus. With the air flow vents open I do not notice any difference in the ventilation. It is an excellent value for the money.

I have XXL & it's tight at chin. My chin almost rests against helmet. Boom mic is up in field of vision when worn(whole purpose of buying headset ready). Bought BreatherBox for cold, but is useless, won't fit. Adj sun shade is good & the light weight doesn't kill my neck. Takes patience to close, but holding release button in makes it easier. Overall for price, great helmet.

I was replacing a Symax that lasted 4 years before the chinbar lock mechanism went to pieces. Thought I would get the same size in this helmet, 2XL. This one feels a little more snug but still comfortable. The cheek pads are tighter around my face but not bad. The built in sunshade is very cool.

This is my second HJC helmet - this one an upgrade. Looks great. I ordered mine larger than the recommended measurements and it fits fine. Like the sun visor, though I wish it was darker. It would be nice if the strap snap was magnetic (saw this on a different helmet). Overall I'm very satisfied. Great customer service.

I bought this helmet because I cannot get my glasses on with a full face. With this HJC Flip up, I get into my helmet in a snap! Fits well, great ventilation. I used the tinted visor once, not overly impressed, but adequate I guess. There is wind noise, but just like in a car with the windows open. Overall, very satisfied.

Great helmet for the $$$. Easy to flip up the modular piece. Was told if riding with chin bar up, it would catch a lot of wind, however, when I get on a safe back road, I raise it and have no problem with wind drag at even 45 mph.

I'll start by saying that I have a huge head, so finding a perfect fitting helmet is difficult for me. I ordered a 3X and it fits better than most helmets I have tried. Being modular also helps, since I can put it on with the face up, and then close it before the ride. Other than that, this seems to be a great helmet. The features are fantastic for this price range. I love the built in sunshield. Airflow is very good, but not the best I have experienced. It can get a little noisy at highway speeds, but that is normal for a modular helmet. It looks great and is amazingly light for all that is packed inside. I would recommend this to anyone. In fact, I ordered one for the wife too.

This is a high quality helmet, very nice features. Harley Davidson dealers sell the same model in black for around $250.00. It is quiet and fits well. I normally wear a medium in a 3/4 and had to order an extra-large to get the correct fit. I am very happy with the purchase. .

I've had this helmet now for about five months, so I figure it's about time I put in my two cents. The helmet is pretty comfortable, only complaint being that the ear pads do not fit so well around my ears. Might be due to me being between the small and medium sizes according to the sizing chart. The padding is nice all around, and I love that I can remove them should my helmet ever start to smell funky. I absolutely love the slide down visor. It's effortless to pop down (even while still cruising), though I didn't realize until just now that there was a third position. It could use a little more tinting. Opening the helmet is easy, but I do have an issue closing the helmet from time to time. Takes a nice hard slam sometimes. Air flow is excellent. I didn't get very sweaty in the summer, and you know it gets HOT here in Texas. Does fog up pretty bad when breathing deeply or even when stopped with the least bit of humidity. Nothing that a cracked visor won't fix, but that's about to not be an option with the temperatures dropping the way it is. The overall appearance is nice, maybe a bit on the bulky side I think, but maybe it's just because I'm a girl with a smaller build.

It's not super quiet at high speeds but I don't mind. Sometimes the front is hard to open, and I must at times use both hands to close it properly in order for it to lock. Love the tinted visor, though the release button sometimes rattles. I cannot comment on the Bluetooth as I haven't used it yet. It is very comfortable overall and I am glad I chose this helmet, I recommend it.

Have owned n worn for 2yrs. Ride 220 days/yr, year round BAD: 1) Cold draft under chin in winter (Bought sherpa neck wrap / problem solved) 2) helmet padding starting to feel loose (worn out?? ) 3) wind noise. Overall: well worth the money, plenty of amenities, comfortable fit, removable/washable liner, pre-formed pockets for "integrated BT" (not a clip-on system like scala). Planning to buy a new one after christmas to replace the one I've worn out! Good: 1)great bargain. 2)integrated sun shield is convenient/flip down in sun, retract at night 3) modular design is great for quick stop at gas pump or ATM. 4) Chatterbox BT works fine. Syncs with iPhone4S fine and Siri works. Music isn't very loud in helmet but can hear OK on highway.

I have owned mine for about 6 months. The features and quality are very good and the flip down sun shade is very handy. Have not had any problems since purchase. The only problem is that it was a little tight at the sides of my head since I have a round head, not a narrow head. Had to slightly modify the pads for a more comfortable fit. Would buy again.

I bought this helmet for my fiancé. The visor was a little crooked when it arrived via shipping, but with some adjustment it's fine now. It isn't a completely quiet helmet, however this is the sport of motorcycle riding and we haven't worn a helmet yet that is quiet. The fit is good, the look is good, everything works - we like it just fine. I am going to buy one for me next, and I'm very particular.

I needed a good helmet that didn't cost more than $300. I went with this one. The pads on mine stay in just fine. Fit is great. Air flow is kinda rough around ears so it's loud. Several compliments about the looks of it(matte black). I don't experience lift or anything and have been well into the triple digit speeds(on track weekend). Will probably require some upkeep as should any mechanical device.

Helmet has all the features I was looking for. Modular, so I can raise the face at intersections in 90 degree NM afternoons, sun visor that drops down for afternoon sun. Fit was good. Now the bad, ear pockets a little small. Had to work my ears around while pulling on the straps to get my ears to sit in the pocket. Sun visor slide button rattles in the wind. Will fix this soon with a headset and music. Helmet is larger than most and doesn't fit in my side luggage and barely fits in my XL JC Whitney trunk. Had to carry it into a store while shopping and dropped it on the face shield. Ordered a new shield already for it. For the price, it's a good deal. If I wasn't so cheap, I would spend twice the cash and get a proven modular with drop down sun visor if there is such a thing.

Helmet fits great; is very comfortable and head does not sweat. The features are awesome for the price of this helmet. The slide down sun screen needs work. Lost my first position right off the bat. The flat black color and texture of the helmet reduces scratches. Has a great appearance. Even though the Bluetooth cost more than helmet it’s still a good investment to buy this helmet.

I purchased this helmet so I could mount the Chatterbox XBi2-H Bluetooth communications module in it and because it had the speaker pits and wire channels already in it. I can hear the XBi2-H perfectly at speed, so my GPS and phone come through fine. At its price point, the HJC IS-Max is a great purchase to make if you have a Chatterbox XBi2-H.

This is my second HJC sy-max and I must admit the quality as gone down dramatically. The first HJC fit better and the materials were a better quality. The integrated visor is O.K. but the distortion is fairly noticeable. I broke the foam trying to adjust the cheek pad and the chin strap is already beginning to fray in places. I would still recommend the unit but will look around when it is time to buy a new lid.

50/50 chance you will or will not like it...you can listen to all the nit pickers above, but it sounds as if they wanted Bose quality sound on a motorcycle... For the record it's not perfect but it does work. I love this helmet. It's got nice features, the bomber shade, modular, looks sleek with the Bluetooth. Had not had any problems with either the helmet or the chatterbox I purchased with it. Take care of your equipment and it will last. Plain and simple.

Owned for a little over a year. Pro's: Very comfortable. Airflow excellent. Wind noise is not bad for a modular, though worse with replacement windscreen (I scratched original - not the helmet's fault.) Sun visor is OK. Con's: Helmet is very practical and effective, but this puppy is HUGE! Outer surface must be two full inches away from my head. Modular & visor feature add lots of thickness.

New bike, new helmet, March in Michigan..too much air flow, cold chin and inside noise. Used foam ear plugs to fill top vents, clear vinyl tape over hinge and blue tooth openings/covers- much quieter. Experimented with removing modular flip shell and gluing a lining inside with 1/16 in craft foam to increase seal to main helmet, much improved, quiet, only air is vents, but fip up/down is now stiff. Still a good buy.

Fits well. I measured my head at 23", bought the large and it fits well. Bought a second for my wife. There is a rattle that comes from the vent slides, but not a big deal. Will add blue tooth this summer.

This helmet is slowly starting to fall apart after about 2000 miles on it. The plastic along the top is pulling away from the helmet, the latch for the modular system sometimes is a little tricky and the vents are ok at best. When I first got this helmet, I loved it. Now that I have had it a little while, I'm starting to look for a new one. I hope it last me another 10k miles but I am almost not planning on it. I got what I paid for.

This HJC modular helmet is a good value, I also have a Vemar Jiano Blue tooth helmet, They are both good for the price. They are fine for warmer climates. There is no wind protection from under the chin and around the neck from both of these helmets. I Also have a Shoie Multi Tech, it is a much better helmet in all areas except it does not have a sun visor, a nice feature. The Helmet that is clearly the Very best is the Shuberth, from Germany and now being sold in the US again.

I love this helmet. It fits great and I love the modular feature and especially the sun shade. I wear glasses so now I don't have to keep switching from sunglasses to indoor glasses when I stop to go in somewhere. I just flip down the sun shade while I'm riding and I feel that my peripheral vision is better.

Years ago I had a SyMax and loved it so I decided to try the IS Max-BT for it replacement. I love the fit and find it to be a very comfortable helmet. Like others though I have found that the face bar is becoming difficult to close and open after a couple weeks of wear. I have found that to close the face bar without slamming it I have to lift on the lock release tab while closing. To open I have found that by pushing down on the face bar before pulling on the lock release helps. The air flow could also be better from the chin vents. The one thing that does bug me is a rattling noise from the visor assembly when riding at speeds above 45mph. In the rain this helmet does very well which I find surprising given not only the way the top vent is oriented, but also the visor track looks like it would trap a ton of water but it doesn’t. I commute two hours a day, often in the rain and have never had my head get wet while wearing this helmet. All in all I like this helmet and would most likely buy it again.

I've got about 10K miles with this IS-33. Good brain bucket. First full face I've owned. This is the best so far; it does fog up if you don't lift the lens on a cool day before you stop though. Living in Colorado, I have not ridden in 100 degree weather.

I had a HJC helmet for 4 years, been the best thing I've ever bought, so I tried this brand again. This helmet is super loud. There is a lot of space in the ears for the speakers/bluetooth, but this creates a loud situation. I drive a quiet scooter, and even then its loud. Also the helmet didn't come down straight and didn't clip down right. I returned it.

I just bought my first bike in 26 years and while I wanted the best helmet around, I also had budget concerns. After looking at and trying on many different helmets I decide on the modular designed HJC IS Max Bluetooth. I was more than pleased when I received the helmet The fit was good, it has just a bit of edge to the design and I have been more than please with the ease of bug removal and how well the face shield looks after many cleanings. The one major problem is the lock for the chin guard. After about a month it began to be difficult and yesterday after 3 months and 2000 miles it failed and won't open. I am not too happy about it now. Love the design but the lock is crap.

I am a little unhappy with the flip up. It doesn't lock on its own when closing it. I have to push the lock in to lock it into place. I previously had a HJC helmet and I could close it with one hand by simply dropping it down. Using two hands isn't always an option on a motorcycle. Opening with one hand works okay. Closing it one-handed, does not lock it. I seem to hear a lot of wind noise as well, like a rattling noise.

Good looking helmet. Noticeably lighter than other modular helmets but feels cheaper also. Lifts up at over 65mph and gets worse the faster you go. Tinted slide down visor is nice but it doesn’t keep wind out of eyes. Overall this helmet looks good with nice features but is subpar in the performance and feel.

My car was "blue tooth Ready" all I needed was an active cell phone. This helmet only has an opening where a chatterbox can be connected. It is mis-leading to say this helmet is "blue tooth ready".

The sizing chart for this helmet is WAY off. I had to get a helmet TWO sizes larger than my normal hat/helmet size. Air flow is virtually non-existent. Vents open or vents closed, I can't tell any difference, and in southeast Texas, that's a big deal. The removable liner is a nice feature, but it comes out every single time I take the helmet off, which is quite annoying. All things considered, this is a good-looking, quality helmet at a reasonable price, but it still needs work.

Quality suffers. Many plastic parts that fall off easily. The internal band comes off every time i take the helmet off. I would not recommend buying this.

Noisy helmet, Poor sound, and poor customer service combo. HJC mounts the cheek pads to thin and flimsily attached foam which breaks before you know what happened. The ChatterBox XBi 2H had a blown left speaker right out of the box. Haven't had the battery last more than 50 minutes. Sad thing is you have to pay to send it back. I recommend staying away from either of these products--especially when they're combined.

I bought this helmet in Tomball,Tx. Never did I think I would have to also buy Gorilla glue to re-attach the lower pads of the helmet in the first week of ownership. When I went to another shop and looked at the same model of HJC helmet, I found that it too would have needed glue applied. Poorly constructed helmet, would not recommend, unless of course you already own the gorilla glue.
