We get plenty of rain in Vancouver, and these boots have never let me down. Given the cost, I'm very impressed with the level of comfort and waterproofing. Wouldn't mind seeing something a bit more durable on the inside of the ankles though.

I had an older pair of similar boots for several years. Wore them to Alaska, 3 trips to Maine, 2 to California over 4-5 years. But they wore out. I was leaving on a 16 day loop to California again and needed boots ASAP. These were in stock and served me well. Light but with 2 coats of Pecard cream they kept me dry, weren't too hot or heavy. They look like new after I washed 6000 miles of bugs off!
Disapointing offering from Alpinestars

I bought these for my wife for touring and commuting. Ended up sending them back. They fit in length of foot but were so tight everywhere else as to be useless. She could not close the boot around her (average-sized) calf. One would have to be stick-thin in order to wear these. Also no safety features to speak of - no reinforced areas or armor. Not even made from real leather, simply overpriced for what you're getting. Save $50 and buy some Tourmasters.
OK so far. A few nits to pick

Fit is pretty close although I wouldn't mind a little better adjustment on the Velcro closures. The bottom strap is kind of hard to thread through the buckle although easier if you close the upper Velcro first then come back to adjust. Have only used once in the rain once so far and it was a pretty good 20 min downpour and feet stayed dry. Pretty good boot for the price.

After about 40 mins riding in light rain, the left boot started getting wet at the tip and 20 mins after that the tip of my foot was quite wet. The boot is only two months old so couldn't have worn out, although it is my shifting foot. Perhaps it is a defect. Otherwise, its a great boot, feels about 1/2 size large. Goes on and comes off easy. Extremely comfortable.
