Poor Quality

I very rarely bother writing reviews however, I purchased these for my wife, she is 5'8 and 140lbs. The snaps above the zipper did not appear to snap into each other. There was no way to secure the pants and there is no hook or other device to keep the pants closed. The zipper separated on the first attempt to use it....after that it went back in the box and was returned. Will be more cautious with the Joe Rocket brand in the future. (Got her the Scorpion pants and they are great!)

Not working for me

After a few rides I realized these pants are just too wide in the leg for me. The straps can pull the leg width in but you still have all of that fabric to deal with and while I like the waist fit, the leg width really impaired my movement and caused the pants to twist around while riding. Just too much fabric. Great deep pockets, and may even have the pants tailored to narrow them, but for now sticking with a more narrow-legged pant

Very sturdy but not quite waterproof

I'm 5'7", 170lb and usually wear a size 12. I got these in XL to wear over regular pants. They fit pretty well, but are a little uncomfortable to move in since the textile has no stretch. They're also extremely long. Beware that although these pants are water-resistant, they are *not* fully waterproof. I was out riding in constant rain last weekend, and they were soaked through & sticking to my thighs after an hour.

Great product

but unlike the men's version, there's no zipped/vent across the legs/butt area. But since my GF is usually cold, I guess it's a feature that few women probably care about anyway.

Best riding pants ever!

I am 6', 140 lbs, 35" inseam - I live in the Pacific Northwest and ride year-round - I need good protection against cold and rain. The Medium fits perfectly, with plenty of length to provide complete coverage, even when seated. Absolutely waterproof, excellent warmth at freezing temps. I love the fitted high waist (looks great and keeps sweaters etc. tucked in). With all the zips, snaps, velcro attachments, and removable liner, the pants are adjustable to all shapes, sizes and conditions.

Protective, but bulky

These pants are well made, and look decent on. They are pretty adjustable in terms of knee armor and length. I am returning them because they are more for cold weather riding, as they have no vents. My main issue with these pants is the extremely high waist, and overall bulky nature of these pants. I do like these pants, but they are just too much.

Joe Rocket Women's Ballistic 7.0 Pants

These Joe Rocket Pants are very padded and bulky, and the inseam is very long for tall women. However, personally, I did not care for these pants for riding on my street bike because they are very bulky, swooshy noises when walking. Overall in my opinion they are more like a mans pant. I did try two different sizes on and I returned both for refund.

Great overpants

I bought these as overpants for commuting and they do the job perfectly! Both the pant and liner have high zippers up the sides so they come on and off easily, plus they are really waterproof and keep my pants clean and dry all the way to work. Rode in 20F temps and was very warm even though they don't have insulation. I didn't order a size up and can still fit jeans plus thermals under the pants and liner both (have thin legs though, curvier people may want to order size up). I was surprised how mobile and not bulky even those four layers were! My favorite aspect of these pants is the very long inseam on the smaller sizes. I am 5'10" 140 lbs and ordered a medium...35" inseam lets me cover my boots even with knees bent on the bike so no water gets in! The subtle designs are also nice. Thanks Joe Rocket!

Work great in winter and don't have to worry about rain

I wore them yesterday for the first time. They kept me warm, much better than rain pants over my jeans and it is nice to know I don't have to add rain pants when it rains (although I have not tested the waterproofness yet. They were long enough; I am 5'8" 118 lbs and got a small and I had to tighten the waist (there are velcro straps for tightening the waist) and it fit perfectly at the hips. I could wear them without jeans or with jeans. They were comfortable over a 120 mile ride.

the only waterproof pants that fit

I have the hardest time finding gear that fits, I am skinny with really long legs. I have looked through hundreds of pants and Joe Rocket is the only brand I found that makes pants with the longest inseam in XS. I need 32", these pants are 35" with adjustable hem. While some other brands make 32" inseam pants, the matching waist is usually XL. So I didn't have much choice in terms of other features. They are waterproof (so far). They could fit better around the waist (still a tad too big). They look decent. The two snaps in the waist are the weak point - I knew they would break before I bought them and they already did and I already replaced them.

Function with Fashion

Was looking for textile pants that I could use in the winter and summer, for my short height (4'11), butt and thighs, with armor but figure flattering AND can easily wear underneath dress pants for work or shorts for riding to socialize in the warmer weather. This fit all the bill! Already test rode it in low 40 degrees and rain without feeling a bit of coldness or getting wet. Without the liner I'm sure it will do just fine in 100 degree weather too (definitely more comfy than my leather pants). The adjustable hem line is ideal to use depending on the boots I wear. Great price for a great product!

Decent fit, beat out 6 other pairs

The Ballistic 7.0 pants are a good fit, made for women. I have tried on a total of 6 other textile pants including Scorpion (small sizes) and Fieldsheer (either way too large or way too small) brands. Yep, I've never owned any JR gear because I'm not too crazy about their styling - some of the women's gear LOOKS like fashion so that's why I've avoided JR in the past. These pants have black on black embroidered flowers on the hip and leg, but the design is not to conspicuous so it's not too noticeable from a distance. The stitching seems to be really tight, even in the pocket zippers. Another reviewer thinks the knee armour will slip, but mine are planted in pretty well and I don't foresee that being a problem. The knee armour has 2 adjustable slots. The pants are plenty long and can be shortened to two different lengths (a nice feature I did not expect). I'm fairly tall and I have room to spare in length. Since they are waterproof I am not sure how well they will breathe, especially with the liner. Overall good quality and accurate sizing. I tried on a large (good for people size 10-12) and they are snug with the liner. The stupid attachment for the jacket just hangs off the back - wish it had a tuck in pocket or something. It does not attach to my Fieldsheer jacket because the zipper runs the opposite way. That can be easily altered though.
