good product

Had this jacket a week now. The temperatures around here have varied, from the 30s up to 88 yesterday and the jacket has proved its versatility. Nice and cool without liner, toasty with it. I am 5'11" 185 and the fit was perfect for me. Biggest complaint is the inside and chest pockets are too small for my phone (6s+) . Second complaint is the shoulder armor moves around a bit more than my previous mesh jacket. Overall a good mid-range product for the money and would certainly buy another if needed.

Near Perfect!

This is my first jacket of this type, mesh. I've used it 3-4 times and found it to be a superior product to my old trusty leather jacket, which I recently gave away. I'm 5'8", 150 pounds and purchased a size medium in white. The fit is only slightly larger than what I need in the shoulders and that allows the shoulder pads to move around some, a little annoying. But it fits perfectly in the arm length, elbows, waste and back. The first time I tried it, the temperature was low sixties. I removed the liner and took off, only to return and put the liner back in. I hadn't expected such good air flow. Since then the temperatures have been in the 70s to mid 80s and I've removed the liner, nice feature. For me, in southeast Texas, this jacket could possibly be used year round or at least from 60-95 degrees. When I looked closely at the materials and engineering effort that went into this jacket, it could definitely sell for more. Just a couple of recommendations. One, the inside pocket is too small. Two, the key hook should be much lower on the jacket or possibly on the beltline. Just my opinion, but in an accident keys penetrating the upper chest isn't something I would care to experience. As far as durability, I don't know yet. My daughter says it looks sporty and feels better about me riding due to the protective pads and the fact that it can easily be seen as opposed to my old black leather jacket. I looked at many jackets of all different types before I made this purchase, it's the right jacket for me and at a reasonable price.

Winner

I wanted an entry level protective Jacket and for the $ I feel like I got a great value. I am 5'9' 175lbs thicker build short arms, I hesitated but ordered the Large figuring I would send it back for a Medium, it fits perfectly, every feature is there and functions as stated. For $150 this cant be beat.

Nice warm weather jacket.

I needed to replace my last mesh jacket. My wife insisted that I get a high visibility jacket. I chose the Phoenix 5.0 because it was not as goofy looking as the other high-viz ones out there. I'm 5' 11", 165 pounds with a 41.5" chest and the large fits well- it could have been slightly longer in the torso. It feels a little snug with the liner in and wearing a sweatshirt, but that may get better as the backpad starts to conform to my body. Plenty of ventilation with the liner out, which is why I wanted mesh in the first place. I hope I don't need to test out the armor or the durability of the shell- that wasn't pleasant the last time!

Joe Rocket Jackets

I have many Joe Rocket jackets as they are my favorite brand, some are 17 plus years old, they all have been put through the rigor's of riding and are still in near perfect condition. You can't go wrong with Joe Rocket products.

Amazing Entry Level Jacket

This Jacket is an amazing Jacket to start off with for any rider. The jacket might feel heavy when you pick it up, but does not feel bulky or become even noticeable when riding. Thankfully I have not needed to test the protection, but it seems appropriately placed and still very comfortable to ride in. Just wish it could have more internal pockets Highly Suggested

Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket

I love this jacket!!! Cool to ride in when it is hot, yet you can put the liner in and it keeps you super warm when the weather is too cold. And it looks really good!!!!

Joe Rocket Mesh jacket-

Sizing is spot on, but its cut for a fairly fit physique if your chunky go up a size. Armor quality is excellent, need triple the air holes in the back protector. Pads may move on the shoulders if you crash, I punched a couple holes in my shoulders and zip-tied in place. Jacket quality is excellent. The sleeve cinches prevent flapping, the neoprene collar doesn't chafe, its the perfect design, The cuffs are great. Joe Rocket got this one perfect. Highly recommend!!

I was pleased with the fit- I'm 5'7", 165 lbs and Medium is just right. The quality is very good including the zipper. You just have to ensure that the storm flap doesn't catch when you zip it up.

best mesh jacket i own

Great hot weather jacket, I used to strip down to a T-shirt but felt exposed should something happen. Now I'm as cool, and protected from the sun and road when I ride.

Great jacket except elbow armor

I like this jacket a lot but the elbow armor sags below the elbow. Nice forearm protection but worthless for the critical elbow protection.

If they wear it in Texas

I read reviews of customers in hot summer states (TX, FL etc.) in deciding to buy this jacket. It lets air in with ease when you're moving. I don't use the pockets. It's MESH! Reviewers who crammed stuff in the pockets everyday and had zippers fail should consider that the jacket is MESH. I won't say the jacket is fragile, but I stay away from stray velcro and other abrasive materials. The reason air gets through so easily is that the mesh allows it. I wouldn't consider this a super durable jacket, but it allows boatloads of air through and affords you some protection.
