    Very nice helmet

I have a round head/face and this is the perfect helmet for me :) Fit exactly-other brands were too tight width wise, even going up a size. Love the exterior sun shade, easy to adjust. Quick connect and flip up is great. Air flow is poor, but saw an article on how to correct it-have yet to try it but seems to make sense. As for fogging, just click eye shield open a bit till the helmet interior reaches head temp. Love being able to open the face shield at low speeds/stops.

    Paint flakes

I ordered this helmet for a friend who was riding with me cross country for a couple of weeks. Features are great, esp. for the price. But after we got into a brief rain-shower, we noticed that the paint on the helmet started to peel off. Not sure if this is just a fluke thing with this particular helmet, but it's been getting worse ever since. Will be returning helmet.

Much Improved Over the N-100, But Still a Ways to Go

I have worn an N-100 for much of the last decade and it served me well in spite of being noisy, heavy, and requiring two hands to open. I wore the N-102 on a 2,800-mile trip across the south and west in July. The pluses: it is much less tiring to wear, slightly quieter, and is beautifully finished. The helmet opens with one hand for quick conversations or to do low-speed maneuvering and the vents can be operated with a gloved hand. The helmet fits snugly; the interior liner is very comfortable, and neck curtain is a welcome feature to keep out bugs as well as cold winds. I also liked the sun visor feature so I don’t have to switch to my prescription glasses. The minuses: still a very noisy helmet, even when closed up completely. The air flow from the vents is nonexistent. The sun visor stays in the fully down position, but its middle detente is suspect; winds easily moved it up or down from there. In addition, the visor seemed to buzz at certain speeds with certain wind conditions. Bottom line: I'll continue to wear this helmet and enjoy it, but next time I'm in the market for a new lid I'll consider other brands that may cost more, as well as checking out Nolan's latest model.

    Nolan - N102

Interesting that in the offered information about this item, no mention of sizing was made that was helpful to this purchaser. The item that I purchased turned out to be much too large and had I had some reasonable warning, I could have made a better choice!

    Favorite helmet hands down!

I own about 15 helmets of all different types but this is my work horse so I bought a second helmet to match my second bike which is white. First of all I hate having my faced covered at all times especially in NYC stopped at a red light on a hot day like today N102 flip it up with thumb/forefinger and it's like reflex. I ride all year round as long as there’s not ice on the road but I have ridden in snow and several torrential rains and even some floods. The helmet is watertight. The visor will not fog. The sun visor is a necessity. Air flow is decent but it can get a bit hot in the summer. It can also feel a bit heavy so know that in advance. I also use blue tooth gps/music via tom tom and an ipod setup I have and the fit is perfect. I own 2 motorcycles a Ducati Monster and a BMW GS. I commute to work on one or the other (in bad weather you can guess which) all year round. This is my favorite helmet. Price can't be beat, quality is excellent. I own one for each bike and will get my wife one this summer.

    great helmet for me

I like being able to flip the wind screen up or flip the whole front up. The ratchet chin strap is easy and quick. Air flow ok, especially with the wind screen open a notch. I already had one for 3 years of steady driving so I knew how well it worked for me. There is nothing like a New Helmet! Ok, new tires are right up there, too.

    Nolan - N102 Metallic N-Com Modular Helmet

I prefer the sunshade to be mounted on the outside, as it is on the N102. This allows me to race through multiple consecutive left and right turn twisties with my sunshade at the exact ratcheted height. I can go from sun drenched left turn to shaded righthand corner with a slight movement of my chin. No muss. No fuss. No loss of sight due to sun or shade. With the exterior mounts you don't get the multiple levels of ratchet. Why? Ask the manufacturers. On a motorcycle I need much more from my sunshade than just Up or Down. Too bad the N102 is replaced by the N103.

    Nolan - N102 Metallic N-Com Modular Helmet

The helmet has a snug fit at first but it gets better with time. The quick release is good and bad. The quick release works well but you have no ring to attach it to your motorcycle helmet lock. Installing a headset takes some time and a great deal of patience.

Great, feature rich modular for a good price

Helmet fits great, ratchet fastening straps are easy to fasten with gloves on, as is flip-up functionality. Sun shade is an added bonus. Much noisier than my full face Scorpion helmet, but with earplugs, who cares? I'd buy this helmet again in a heartbeat!

Nolan N102 -- outstanding product & delivery time

I am very pleased with my Nolan helmet. I have owned three Nolan N100s in the past and have been waiting for the 102 to go on sale again so I could afford one. I absolutely love this helmet. The only things I might change if I could would be a bit better air-flow across the interior of the face shield and over the top for keeping it clear during times of high humidity and for cooler ventilation in the summer time. I know it came with the anti-fog shield but it's not always convenient to stop and install that when you suddenly run into fog or misty conditions. I also have the inner dark shield and it would be nice if both it and the clear one could be changed without having to remove the primary visor. Otherwise -- outstanding product. And for service/delivery time from Motorcycle Superstore -- simply amazing. I don't recall the exact time, but it was much quicker than I anticipated -- only three or four days I think. thank you for providing a great product at a great price with such prompt service.

    Terrific Helmet

I bought my Nolan 102 about a month ago, and I couldn't be more pleased with the helmet. The field of vision is excellent, especially to the sides and particularly. The flip down/up sunshade is extremely convenient on roads where you go into and out of areas of shade and sun. In the early morning cold, the face shield tends to fog more readily at stops than in other helmets I have worn, but installing Nolan's internal fog-free lens insert solves the problem completely. All in all, a very good helmet for the money.

    Love it

Bought one for my wife one for myself, took a 3,517 mile trip to New England, rode in rain and heat. We both love them. This was the fourth helmet set to own, best yet. We had Air-Rider headsets installed. The helmet kept out a lot of road noise, in fact I had trouble hearing my Gold Wing's engine sound at times. Several friends recommended Nolan and they were right.

    Nolan N102 Metallic N-Com Helmet

I was having a problem with wind noise with all my other helmets. We just took a 2200 mile trip and there was basically no problems with this helmet. We covered some 600 miles a day and the weight of the helmet was not an issue. This is by far the best helmet I've owned. Thanks.
