Bridgestone Battle Wing Tire

I have a 08 BMW R1200GS and it came with a set of Bridgestone Battle Wing. As of now I have 10500 miles on the clock ad there is still rubber left on the rear tire for probably another 1000 miles. The front tire has still about 30% treat left. I live in the mountains and like to ride a good clip in all those twisties and tight corners. It’s the first set of Battle Wings I have ever experienced and this tire performs and handles and most importantly has an excellent life span. Consequently I ordered already another set of Battle Wings which I will be mounting soon. This is really a great tire and the price at the Motorcycle Superstore is very competitive compared to similar tires. I definitely highly recommend this tire.

Beats the Trailwing hands down

This is my 2nd rear Battlewing, I also have one on the front. The OEM tires on my Zuk DL650 were Bridgestone Trailwings. The BW's are much better on the street, they seem to stick better, giving me more confidence in corners and they last longer too. My 1st one, I got a big nail in it after a few hundred miles (new tires are nail magnets) I pulled the nail and plugged it, it lasted another 9000 miles before it started leaking again, so I replaced it. I still had a 1/8" of tread on it. My original TW's were bald in the middle at 9000 and were slippery in the corners after about 6000. Also Motorcycle Superstore had the best delivered price both times and fast shipping.

Best tire for V-Strom on the street

I really like these tires on my V-Strom! I have 60K miles on the bike and have gone through many tires and these are the best I have tried. I changed the last one at 7.5K miles. It would have gone at least another 2K but I was starting another long trip of over 3.5K. It was a little squared off but that is to be expected after 7.5K of highway miles. Price is good, handling is great, and mileage also good. This is a street tire, not good in the dirt, but I expect many V-Strom riders are like me and do very little riding off road.

V-Strom

These tires are perfect on my vstrom 650. The Wee handles great in all weather conditions with the Battle Wings on front and back. Great performance in 100+ degree heat and freezing temps below 30. I ride a lot and I ride hard - these tires make it easier for me to ride safe.

BMW R1150GS

I have standardized on these tires for my GS. Good price, excellent wear and they hold well in corners wet and dry. As long as Bridgestone offers this tire, this is the tire I'll use.

Great street tire for V-Strom

Just put these tires on before a 4,000 mile ride which included Deals Gap. They worked great for both highway and twisties. I switched from Anakee II's because I wasn't going to be doing any off road riding and didn't want the unnecessary road noise on the highway. These worked perfect and wear evenly.

Bridgestone - Battle Wing Rear Tire

I ran my first stock tire on my V-Strom bald and installed the battle wing. The stability and traction is noticeably better. The delivery speed from Motorcycle Superstore was AMAZING! The price was right too. I will buy there again!

Battle Wing

Battle Wing's came standard on my 07 GSA. The previous owner had taken them off when new. I bought the bike they were given to me. When it became time for new tires I re-installed the Battle Wing's. WHAT a nice tire! Although a more highway tread they have worked well in hard packed gravel and dry dirt. The front was a little squirrelly in loose rock but because of the road handling I will buy another set when these are done. I will get two rear tires to one front, about the same as other tires I have used.

Excellent touring rubber

Just got back from a 5034 mile trip back east and had spooned on a pair of these (front and back) in the hopes that I wouldn't be down to the cord when I got back home... There's better than half the tread left in the center of the tire! Superslab miles, averaged about 75mph across the country on I-80/90... All I might ask of this tire is a more rounded profile: since the Strom was fully loaded I didn't lean it over too far in the corners but I noticed that the chicken strips are pretty much not there, making me think that I'll run out of tire before I scrape pegs if I'm really trying to heat things up. Perfect long lasting touring tire, cheaper than the Metzler.

Second set

Ordering my second set for my dl650 looked around for a different set to try out,but from my experience and what research I've done, Battlewings are the way to go. Good milage out of these tires to boot.

Excellent VStrom tire

This is the second one I've put on the rear. Last one had over 10k miles on it and I don't "take it easy" on my tires. Good overall traction for a 90/10 tire, obviously better on street but still fair or better on trails and harder pack dirt. Sidewalls are quite rigid and give good feel in stability and cornering.
