Shoei RJ Platinum R Open-Face Helmet

Open face helmets are prized by motorcycle riders for their convenience and field of vision, but rarely are they ever associated with such traits as aerodynamically refined and quietness. Shoei largely bucks the trend with the RJ Platinum R, an open face helmet that really surprises out on the road. The density EPS liner is very nicely padded and while cooling is already excellent, Shoei has still gone ahead and equipped it with adjustable forehead vents. In addition, a removable visor lets you have the option of attaching a face shield for a little more coverage.

    Features:
    • Lightweight, Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus (AIM+) shell
    • Shell integrated spoiler
    • Adjustable top intake and rear exhaust vents
    • Dual density EPS liner
    • Snaps for aftermarket shields
    • Fully removable interior
    • Soft and comfortable shock-absorbent liner
    • 3D comfort liner system
    • Removable GT visor
    • Neck Outlet vent
    • Five year warranty
    • DOT and SNELL M2010 approved
    • Shoei products can only be shipped to U.S. customers
    • Item # 1206

Bought this helmet to replace my Shoei full face helmet for the Florida heat in the summer. Exceptionally quiet for an open face. Fits snug, but is comfortable after break in. Highly recommended.

    RJ Platinum Open Face Helmet

I needed a new helmet and decided to try this one. It was tight when I first put it on, but it fits well. As one person wrote, put the helmet on then the glasses! I agree. Hopefully this will become better as it gets worn. I do not like where the snaps are for the visor. They are higher on the helmet then I would like as the visor is not as it should be for me. This is not to say I do not like it because I do, and will buy another when the time comes, and will use Motorcycle Superstore again.

    Shoei RJ Platinum

I bought two of these to replace the Shoei RJ Airs we have been wearing for about ten years. The old Shoei's were great helmet's but the Platinum has far better air vents and a removable liner to boot. The Harley headsets mounted without a hitch and typical Shoei the finish is second to none. After they are broken in the fit is excellent. Very happy with the purchase.

    RJ Air Platinum Helmet

The helmet was shipped ontime, fits well, and looks great! A little pricey compared to other brands but the quality, I feel, is better. Besides how much is your safety worth?

Very happy with my helmet, live on the Oregon coast not real warm here. Helmet is warm and cozy, fits perfect. My chatter box fits just right, well worth the money.

    Great Kazoo dum dums

This bulbous piece of kit is absolutely fabulous. When I was preparing to embark on a transcontinental solo ride I thought that I should invest in a little more protection (I'm a half helmet guy) so I bought this helmet. It cut down greatly on wind noise, kept my head warm and fit true to size. If you are considering a 3/4 helmet spend a few more bucks and buy the best.

Shoei, RJ, Platinum, open face helmet

This is really a terrific helmet. I have an old (13 years) Shoei RJ helmet and the inside was falling apart so I decided that it was time to replace it. The first week of ownership I wore this helmet over 20 hours and it just got more and more comfortable as the days went by. Very important to me was the helmets ability to hold my glasses in place without a lot of air blowing around my eyes at 60 mph and this Shoei does that very well.

Expensive vs. other helmets, but still a great value

This is probably the best open faced helmet out there. Fit, quality, ergonomics, ventilation (when you want it) are all awesome. It is a lot more expensive than other cheap helmets. However, this is a far better value in my opinon. Think of all the time you spend on school, children, your wife. If you like your helmet, you're more likely to wear it. And if you wear it more often, it will be there when you need it.

    Perfect

I tried shark helmet and HD helmets before, but this one beats them all. Fits perfect, light. Glasses fit great under the helmet. One of the more important things to me. Very comfortable helmet A+++ and great price to.

    Great Helmet

I have found it to be cooler and more comfortable than by old Scorpion half helmet. I left the bike parked in the sun with the helmet on the bike in 95 degree MS weather for 5 hours and then got on it and rode for an hour. When I pulled the helmet off, every hair on my head was dry. I can't believe what great ventilation it has. The cheek pads were tight in the beginning, but it is now breaking in nicely. Also plug for Motorcycle Superstore, they have great customer service.
