Bell Helmets are back on top

Bell helmets used to be the best in the world, they were bought out by the italians and slipped into obscurity, Bell is now back, I have owned many helmets over the years, Shoei, Arai, HJC, Vega, Simpson, etc. I used to buy Bell exclusively years ago. I just purchased a Bell apex, and have never been happier with any helmet I have ever owned. Super comfortable, removable, washable interior, great ventilation, and I live in Arizona! Paint and finish are second to none. Everything about this helmet is high quality, from the vents to the strap keeper, to the shield which is very robust, and easy to open. The pricing is fantastic, do not spend $400-$500 on overpriced helmets, when Bell gives you the same or better quality for $200. Thank you Bell, and Motorcycle Superstore for the nicest helmet I have ever owned for a fraction of the price I paid for inferior helmets. Keep it up Bell, you have many loyal customers from the past who were looking for the rebirth of Bell.

How could I go wrong?

I am very pleased with this helmet. It has all of the quality and features of the more expensive helmets. I have owned Bell helmets in years past and have never been disappointed with the quality. When I bought my first motorcycle in 1965 Bell helmets were some of the best in the business. In this case I got a top of the line helmet on sale for only $100 with free shipping. How could I go wrong?

Bell Apex

I have owned many helmets in my 30 years of riding, including Bell, Shoei, Arai, Simpson, etc., but none has been as good as this Bell Apex, super comfortable, great venting, awesome graphics. Fit and finish are top notch, removable, washable interior, great warranty, very quiet, I can't say enough good things about this helmet. I would highly recommend this helmet to anyone. Why buy overpriced foreign helmets, or for that matter a plastic off brand, when for the less than most cheap helmets, you can own a real Bell top of the line lid?

Vent Noise and Fogging

Although the helmet is one of the nicest I've had, in comparison to my Shoei Joust, it does seem to be a tad bit lacking in some refinements. The one thing that stands out is the vent slide covers rattle when at speeds approaching 80kmh and that can be a bit un-nerving until one realizes what it is and the helmet is not going to fly apart. The next pet peeve is the strap snap. It is very difficult to get the strap to attach to its counterpart and so I have taken to just doing up the strap and letting the free end be free. The little snaps to stop it from flopping around are hard to get together as one seems to be too far up and is under the chin rim. One the excellent side, the anti-fog shield is perfect. At temps approaching 3 to 6 degrees C, the shield is clear. Even when stopped, unlike the Shoei which has to be “cracked” open to keep it clear, even with the chin curtain and breath mask installed. A thing to note with the Shoei is that although the chin curtain and breath mask are installed, there is still considerable fogging especially when wearing eye protection. The wind noise that some talk about is negligible and the chin curtain and breath mask on the Bell stop most of the noise and all of the fog. Even when wearing eye protection, unlike my Shoei. Chalk another one up for Bell. All in all, the Bell Apex is a bit noisier than my Shoei Joust but for colder weather the Bell Apex beats my Shoei out.

Was the most bang for the Buck

I purchased this helmet at half price. I measured my head according to the charts. The Large fits me snug and doesn't move around on my head. The sound dampening is good and the vents work. Kept me warm in cooler weather. You won't be disappointed with this one, especially if you get it at the close out price. Have not worn it on hotter days yet.

An Excellant lid, regardless of price

This helmet offers almost all the features. The simple features like a chin scarf and snap for the chin strap are nice touches. It's fairly light, and moderately quiet. There is a little wind noise at the top vent. It doesn't have an internal bluetooth, but that's about it. I have 2 of them. I use a dark smoke visor, and it changes out fairly easily. The visors are a little expensive, but well with in the competitions prices. The price on this helmet is the absolute best deal on any lid around. If you can tolerate the graphics (I like 'em), you can't beat it.

Absolute Best Buy

I love this helmet, the best I've ever worn. The fit, the shield/helmet quality and the weight is 1st class. Definitely better than the Scorpion, HJC, KBC and Icon. I brought 2 of them and would recommend them to anyone. But don't take my word for it, check the review on webbikeworld.com. Then come back to get it for the unbeatable price from The Motorcycle-SuperStore! Happy Safe Riding.

Bell Apex Helmet

Delivery was right on time. The helmet looks and fits great. It had a neck/chin shield which removes very easily from the inside padding. Since it is winter, I haven't had the opportunity to wear it on the road. I can't wait for Spring.

Great name and a great helmet.

I bought this helmet for my wife. I have a great deal of confidence in Bell and wouldn't trust my wife’s noggin to anything less. The fit, finish and especially the price are great. The padding is thicker than most other full face helmets but it doesn't limit the field of view. Very happy.

Thanks for a great helmet. It fits just fine and blocks the cold from my face and ears. I really like the in/out lining. This will be easy to keep clean. Thanks again.

Does an excellent job at a bargain price

I, too, bought the Apex helmet at the close-out price. Read the existing reviews on this web-site and a more in-depth one on the web. Knew that in past years Bell had fallen off its former position in terms of quality and popularity, but was impressed by what I had read. Turns out that I was not mis-led. It's lighter, quieter, much more comfortable than, and doesn't fog up like my KBC (which cost me in excess of $230). There seems to be no distortion in the shield, and the KBC did have some. The venting system seems to be an integral part of the shell, while the KBC, and others I have seen, have a couple of venting tunnels grafted to the top of the helmet shell (which are very vulnerable to damage.) The Apex seems to be on par with my lady's Shoei, which was priced in the $350 neighborhood. Aerodynamically designed and keeps the rain out. Would have preferred a solid color, but can live with the graphics! I'd buy it again.
