    Matches tank grips

I bought this to match the TechSpec snake skin tank pads I already had. Compared to other tank pads by TechSpec, this one is more decorative with the spine design. It's got an industrial look, as the edges are not rounded like the gel pads, with a flat black textured rubber finish which suits my Speed Triple. Easy to fit although I can see the sticky adhesive around the edge. Functionally I can't say it's any better than the equivalent Pro Grip pads, but the look is unique.

    Clear Tank pad

The tank pad was a rectangular piece of clear plastic. It was big enough, but I did not like the design on it. In addition, dirt and cloth fibers were able to get under the pad and be visible. This was due to the clearness and the poor application of the pad by me. Not knocking the brand nor the quality, but I would never buy a clear pad again. I would never buy a rectangle for the tank pad because it is almost impossible not to have a bubble or two due to the curvature of the gas tank.

Now it looks like a 2015 Concours 14

This pad was easy to apply and covered the old (retouched) zipper dings on the tank. Kawasaki actually added a similar factory pad on the 2015 Concours but they want about $60 for it so I tried this version. So far so good but the 125º summer days in El Centro will put the adhesive to the real test in a few months. I ride every day (2012 Kawasaki Concours 14).
