After getting my first streetbike this year, i figured that i would be able to use my dad's old Arai. i had no idea helmets expired.. so, it was time for a new one. after trying numerous brands at the local shop, Arai was the best feeling in my opinion. i havent had this helmet for long but i absolutely love it. it also came with a PinLock anti fog insert and it works really well from what i can tell. no longer need to lift your visor at a stop light. Definitely worth the investment.
When I began searching for a replacement for my current helmet my biggest priority was finding a helmet that fit the shape of my head properly. A call to Arai America directed me towards the Signet-Q as being designed to fit the long oval head shape that I have.
Initially I was a bit shocked at the cost of a Signet-Q but now that I have it I'm glad I do. The fit and finish both inside and out are second to none. The adjustability of the interior padding to fit your head perfectly is a major plus. Visor clarity, venting options, lack of buffeting and quiet all add up to truly the best helmet I've ever owned.
I purchased the Defiant to replace my Arai XD-4. Once I saw the graphics on the Jolly Roger I new I had to have it. I love the graphics, the pictures online don't do it justice. For me the Defiant is quieter than the XD-4 and with all the vents closed up there is less air leaking through the helmet. With all the vents open it flows a ton of air, I can't wait to try it out this summer. The only downside to the helmet is the peripheral vision, the vision is a little narrow compared to the XD-4. After riding all day in the wind the Defiant is light weight, very comfortable and performs really well when I am riding my 2012 Concours. Overall the Defiant Jolly Roger is great helmet.
