nice helmet for the $$$
I've had this helmet for 2 months and its been holding up great, size is a little bigger than normal. Excellent vision, plenty of space for sunglasses to wear. Plenty of airflow and cold in winter now, you need a hood to keep warm. Easier to talk than full face. No built in sunglasses. Over 70mph and sunshade starts to rattle a bit, its bad when you turn your head sideways, lots of pull and rattle. I really like the vision and lightweight. Have not seen tinted visors yet. Price is right.

Joe Rocket RKT Hybrid Helmet
Right out of the box, I thought this helmet was heavy and the fit was not good. Now keep in mind, everyones heads are different. I am female, small head. So fit and weight are important. Unfortunately or fortunately I was sent a M instead of a S. I sent the JR back and instead ordered the AFX hybrid. Much, much better feel. The chin strap is in the right place. The JR did not seem right ot me. So I am happy, too each his own. Motorcycle Superstore was great to work with on the return.

Nothing Special; Just OK for the Price for a Hybrid
I was attracted to the Sun Shade Feature which would be a great help with the morning & afternoon sun here on Virginia's infernal, traffic clogged, east-west roads. The comfort, noise and visibility issues are OK for the reasonable sale price BUT the Sun Shade I wanted is a big drawback. The turbulence and lift is uncomfortable starting at about 60 mph so I ordered an O'Neal Tirade as a "step-up!"

Very Good Value - sizing is whacked
The sizing is way off. I have another HJC helmet (medium) which fits great. I returned the medium Joe Rocket for a small and it is still a bit large. I could've gone with an x-small but don't want to waste more time and money returning it...and I only use it as my road helmet so a tiny bit loose is not such a big deal. I rarely exceed 70mph on my DRZ400s. Overall, I would say this helmet is a very good value.

great helmet for the price
I bought this for dual sport riding, 80/20 road. Fit is according to the size chart, finish is very good, visor and shield basically adjust to 2 positions. With the visor in the down position, and the shield in the raised position, your line of sight is poor. If you want the shield up, the visor must be up; which is fine except for high speeds. Lots of air flows through this helmet so I'm not sure how comfortable it will be in cold weather.

Joe Rocket Hybrid...Two helmets in one
First off I ride a KTM 625 Supermoto and a Suzuki Bandit Streetfighter. I ride year round, both on road and off road, so I wanted a very versatile helmet that could replace the MX and Fullface helmets that I currently ride with. During the suffocating summer heat in Central Florida riding with a full face is miserable, even with the shield up. I often ride with my MX helmet just out of comfort as the increased airflow is essential. However, during spring months, when flash rainstorms are common, and fall months when, temps drop unexpectedly, the open face of my MX leave me unprotected from inclement weather. (In case you're wondering why I don't just ride sans helmet as Florida law would permit, it's because I'm a paramedic and have seen the consequences of skull vs pavement accidents).
The Hybrid seems like the perfect marriage between my great fitting, value priced, full face helmet, my Scorpion EXO1000 and my One Industries Kombat MX lid. The fit of the Hybrid does run a bit large as I wear a Medium with all my helmets, except the Hybrid, which is a size Small. When worn with a pair of sun glasses or goggles (which I prefer) the Hybrid becomes an amazing, go anywhere, anytime helmet system.
I am extremely happy about this helmet and would recommend it to those road hooligans who ride either Supermotos, Dual Sports, or Streetfighter bikes. YES, there is some peak lift at speed, but it's not an issue until you climb into triple digits, which along with windblast is a curse of the above mentioned motorcycles . I would NOT recommend this helmet to anyone who rides a supersport bike, your speed WILL make the limitations of this helmet immediately apparent.

Just ok
The shield is distorted and the strap is too close to the neck. Those are my only complaints. Aside from those issues, this helmet is fine-and every bit as good as the higher priced dual sport helmets. The fit and finish on the Shoei and Arai helmets is slightly better, but all of these dual sport helmets (with a visor) are a drag to wear at high speed or for distances unless you imagine it’s not as bad as it seems, or you've already dropped $500 on a helmet and now you must accept what you've done for the sake of looks. I say try this one before you buy the $450+ models and you'll probably be content with your traditional helmet.

the perfect mixture
Purchased this helmet for my supermoto in light of the Shoei and Arai due to their extraordinarily high price, it's to be used off road sometimes why would I take a $400 + helmet to go riding in the dirt ? The Icon wasn't even a runner up as I don't want to look like Master Chief from Halo and I have used Icon products in the past and will never again. As it's constructed by HJC the crash protection is not under question. The construction is spot on, nice retention system for the helmet strap utilizing a snap like a Scorpion to hold the loose end; field of view, weight, and airflow are amazing. The increased airflow over a normal street helmet is the best part, no distortion through the visor even though it has a sharp angle at it's apex. A nice step above the cheap AFX which flexes with the slightest bit of external pressure. I wear a LG in most helmets and this one fit true to size. The ability to fit goggles under the visor is another added benefit. I recommend this for any supermoto/adventure rider. The only downside I can find is I can't locate tinted visors but as I use goggles with it during the day I gave it a 4/5 for features.

Only had to RMA it twice.
I usually don't like buying helmets online but no dealer near me had the hybrid in stock. Following the sizing chart on Joe Rocket’s website, I ordered a medium. It was WAY too large. Spoke with the JR customer support rep and she recommended returning it for a small, which I did. Got the small and it was still large. RMA'd it for an x-small which fits. This exercise cost me $14 and 3 weeks. The quality is a step up from the AFX FX-37. You can wear goggles w/o removing the screen which is a nice feature that the AFX lacks. I would recommend this helmet but caution others about following the sizing charts provided by the manufacturer.
