Awesome pipes can't wait to ride next year

I've had these on my 1998 VT1100CT since 2003. The right side muffler has just now rusted through on the bottom. I remember having to do some prying and maneuvering to get them lined up when I first installed them but nothing too bad. The full length heat shields cover the pipes and still look good to this day. I opted on the quiet baffles which have a very deep, throaty sound that's very distinctive and different from the tinny, high pitch sound of other aftermarket metric cruiser pipes. They do get a little louder over time but I still have the original baffles in. With the right side rusting out after 13 years it does look like I'm going to have to replace the mufflers. The outside finish still looks good but the rust started from the inside and there's about a 4" long by 2" wide rust hole coming through the bottom.

Purchased these to replace factory pipes with cat converter frying my right leg. Easy install and better than expected results. Heat way down. Bike runs better than ever.

99 Vstar custom for me was a good riding, handling bike with decent power ranges :) But its missing that big bike sound and has weak spots in the acceleration ranges with wimpy deceleration.. Vance & Hines Cruisers to the rescue :) Sound is awesome !!!; Rumbles in town like the bad boy should. Performance has smoother range and the boy even jumps a bit on pick up now .. Varoooom.. Has that sound if ya know what I mean :D I could not have made a better upgrade.

This is the second set I have purchased. I liked the first ones so much that when I traded bikes I had to have them again. Installed them myself. Hardest part was getting the factory mufflers off. They sound killer on a 2013 Heritage.

Combined this with the Cobra Power Flow intake and side shots and my little XL1200C is a beast. The V&H map was great out of the gate but I eventually went for the autotuning. Did my dial in over the course of about a week and applied the map a few times along the way. The second application led to some clunky performance until the engine got to peak operating temps. The final map, though, is outstanding. I don't have any objective measurements to go by but the grin on my face when I roll on the throttle heavily is at least twice as wide as when I had the stock intake/pipes/ECM mapping.
