This is my second time buying this helmet, my first helmet was stolen off my bike :( But I was super satisfied with the helmet's performance, fit and price that I bought the same one again!
I live and ride in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and it's hot, rainy and dusty here. This helmet is not too hot and the face shield does a pretty good job of keeping dust out of my eyes (although some still gets through).
I was on the smaller side of the recommended medium size and it fits great, I would probably size up if you're towards the larger end of the scale. The pads are thick but I'm still able to wear aviator sunglasses with the helmet on. The chin strap is not easy to undo so I just loosen it and then pull the helmet off over my head. Not the most elegant way of doing it but it works.
After about 7 months of use, my old helmet's face shield pivot was starting to come off it's hinge frequently, but nothing broke. My helmet was treated pretty roughly since I used it every day and it would hang on the bike when parked, it was knocked around a fair amount and it held up fine, so I'm pretty pleased with the quality.
My only complaint is that the color on the website was a little misleading, I thought it would be more of a purple but it is definitely a wine red.
I needed a replacement for a long ride that I could install comms in. Love the features and the airflow is great, and noticeable. Only issue is like others I ordered one size up after seeing some reviews, still had some center forehead pressure that was an issue. Hopefully it will wear in. Still a recommendation for value.
Just bought my second Gmax GM54S after a crash damaged my first one. Very impressed that no parts of the helmet broke or came off as I slid face first on the road and in gravel. If you want a reasonably priced full featured modular helmet take a look. Fits round heads quite well and the cheek pads have pockets for an intercom and are easily available in different sizes. Fairly quiet too with an excellent face shield, very clear with no distortion.
