Alpinestars Jaws Leather Jacket

It's tragic to see the difference in the jackets over the years. I was so disappointed I returned it. Leather is thinner. The velcro adjusters on the cuffs are pretty much useless...have no idea who even came up with that new design they should fire them. The zippers are flipped so after pulling a zipper up with my right hand for the last 60 years, I now have to use my left...I DON"T THINK SO! Let's talk about the zip in liner....could you make those zippers any smaller? I needed a damn microscope to start it and there's one on each side instead of zipping it up, around and down....what...all in the name of productivity? Just a total overall disappointment. Shame on you Alpinestars.

Great air flow in hot weather

I wore these boots to a trip to TN to ride the Tail of the Dragon in the July heat. They performed as advertised and had outstanding airflow and comfort. If you have ever riden the Dragon it is loaded with switch backs and you are maneuvering all over your pegs from turn to turn and the mobility that these boots offer was perfect.

Awesome Choice

I have looked at so many jackets and this is what I was looking for and in my budget. It is well worth the money and is awesome at full speed. I bought the upgrade pad for the inside back protector which I recommend. I didn't buy it for the winter so no comment but it will work fine with a long sleeve shirt in the fall. I highly recommend this jacket if you are on the fence about the money but want a substantial leather coat for protection and durability and wind resistance.

Comfortable, cool

Perfect fit, very comfortable, and they stay cool. Also fine for walking around. Find the lacing system a little tricky to work. Takes some dexterity to get the clasp to release the laces. They need to use the system that's on my cross-country ski boots :-)

If you have big hands, stay away from these

The knuckles in the gloves are too small and after I got home from my first ride with them on my knuckle was sore and bleeding. Worst pair of gloves I've ever owned. Plus a 3xl is just as big as my 2xl that I wore the palm out. Hands down the most disappointed I have ever been with A-stars

Alpinestars Textile Jacket

I went with Alpinestars for my first jacket primarily because I know and trust the name (with my limited experience with motorcycle gear). I chose the Gunner Waterproof Jacket because I live in Washington--where the rain is frequent and the seasons are temperate and I know I'll be needing a jacket that will work in every season, rain or shine (but mostly rain). Straight out of the box and over my shoulders, the jacket felt right at home. I'm 5'11" and 155lbs (on the lean side of things), and the jacket is nearly a perfect fit made even better by the adjustable straps--consider it room for those of you at the same height with bigger arms. As it's supposed to, the jacket fits just right in the riding position and a little tight when standing straights, so no points docked there. My only concerns (and minor ones at that) is the limited venting for the hot and dry days we have and it does feel like it runs a little short in the torso. Overall extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to upgrading to leather in the future.
