Get the Dark Smoke

I got the Dark Smoke shield as an option to cut the glare during daylight riding - saving me having to use sunglasses behind my shield. It is fantastic! It does what I wanted and more. Looks dark from the outside, but does not hamper vision from inside. I have used in dusk conditions and still not bad. Perhaps you may prefer to switch to the clear one after the sun is gone completely, but it does not darken the view as much as one might think. However, from the outside... it looks fantastic. No need to even describe, since all the product images show the helmets with dark smoke shields - so it looks like that. Also, Bell click release system makes the changeout incredibly simple. I figured that would be handy for swapping back and forth between the clear and dark one, but I haven't taken the dark smoke off since I put it on.

Awesome Helmet !

Love everything about this helmet. The fit is perfect for my intermediate - oval head shape. I will say it runs a little small as I needed a XXL and I normally run a XL in most other helmets. The helmet is light weight, love the magnetic cheek pads and the magnet d-ring lock. The ventilation is amazing, I ride during some pretty warm conditions and for long periods of time, the helmet vents really well. Also comes with a killer carrying case. Happy customer !

Great shirt

Shirt fits perfect. Not to baggy not to tight. Good material and doesn't shrink when you wash it. That's what you want in a shirt.

Bell Headcase Cue ball

I got this helmet for it's retro looks. The quality and fit is good, the clearance price was great. I like this helmet a LOT better than my half helmet (Zox Nano)as it cuts wind noise by about 75%.

Some Issues, but good overall

I previously had a Shoei RF-1000 large, I had to order X-large for this one, and it still feel snug, not quite the right shape. The adjustable air vents on top rattle over rough pavement and the helmet is pretty loud. The airflow is good but nothing to rave about. I like the graphics but they are starting to chip off already after a few months. I love the transitions shield, it works awesome, but the supposed fog coating is not in the same league as a pinlock inert--although I wil l say the bell shield is very low glare and very clear--sometimes I can't believe the visor is down! The helmet is very stable at freeway speeds and it seems better than my old Shoei in that regard. It is a bit heavier but seems to have more protective material. Overall, a good deal, don't regret it for the price.
