i just received the product today. i called the manufacturer before i placed the order to see if it would fit the hjc is max 2 modular helmet, i was told it would fit, it does not in fact it makes the fogging worse then ever. this may be a good product but it isn't for my helmet.
HJC's sizing chart said a "Large" should fit me. I had my doubts so I bought an "Extra Large." I've been trying to use it for a year but my head hurts in less than an hour. I broke down and bought the same model in size 2XL. I couldn't tell the difference in tightness between the new helmet and the old.
I have the tinted face shield which I love, but now that I'm riding at night to get home from work the restricted visibility was bothering me,especially because I'm on small country roads that are very dark and there are a lot of dears. So I wanted to get a clear shield, I got the fog free one and I am amazed. Even in cold weather and rain it does not fog up. Even when stopped at a light I don't have to crack it open and let cold air in like with my other face shields. Totally worth the extra ten bucks. I just can't figure out how they do it, I can't tell the difference. I don't know why they just don't make them all fog free.
I needed a shield for my IS-16, and though those are harder to find now that the helmet isn't being made, this image suggested they are identical. Unfortunately the design has changed so don't shop by this picture alone!
Very good-looking and comfortable helmet. Pull-down visor is easy to use even with heavy gloves and is exactly the right length. Air flow is great, especially on hot Texas summer days. This the perfect helmet for me when I don't want a full face helmet.
Order about a size bigger than your normal shoe. I wear 8.5 so I ordered a 9. A little snug but I would rather have snug than sloppy loose. I have worn a couple times and really like them. Not real aware of cold weather protection since it hasnt been below zero yet.
