The concept and execution are excellent; however, after trying the vest on twice (with and without the optional chest protector) the hem stitching on the right cuff started to unravel. Finish and durability are questionable at this point.
I really love these gloves. They are made for cooler weather, NOT the summer heat. They don't breathe well. I live in New Hampshire, so April and May in the spring, and September through November (weather permitting) I will be wearing these. But the features are very cool.
And the protection is second to none. But break it down. Paying $270 for a pair of gloves is asinine. These gloves should be more reasonably priced. I think nothing more than $180 would be fair. They are definitely eye catching though. You feel like a transformer while wearing them.
I wanted more protection under a Barbour International Jacket and this was just the ticket. The Knox Urbane Shirt is comfortable and provides great shoulder, elbow and back protection. The product is very well made and should last a long time.
Comfortable, low-profile, and suitable to riders who want basic CE knee/shin protection worn inside their Kevlar riding jeans and riding boots for city riding. The inner padding is soft, and the knee cup contours naturally, allowing free joint movement without bulge or bulkiness. Long socks are recommended, as the nylon straps can be slightly abrasive over longer rides. The armor doesn't really cover the sides of the knees, so probably not suitable for canyons.
