Overall quality is good. The blue does more like a purple when the light shines on it (I don't mind so much). Changing the shield is a little difficult at first, but once you understand the process it shouldn't take that much time on the next go. If you ride at night with this shield, make sure you have some really good headlights since it's a little on the dark side.
Great helmet for the price. I find the fit to be spot on with my Shoei VX-1. I see some reviews about the fit and the quality, but I find the fit to be perfect. And the quality, well it's a helmet that's just in over $100 and you can't compare this to a Shoei or Aria. I'm actually getting less lift on the highway with this than other offroad helmets (mostly the face shield making for aerodynamic). I'm extremely happy with my purchase and I would buy another after I've used this one up.
I had previously a GMAX GMD11. This is what I have to compare against.
The Fly helmet has a nice fit and finish. Its much nicer that what I had. Its light and surprisingly comfortable even at freeway speeds.
I would say this is a superior helmet in everyway except one. The Visor leaves a bit to be desired.
The 2015 had a visor upgrade making open all the way and keeping it out of your field of vision (mostly). Unfortunately the visor is stuck at 100% open or closed. I liked the GMAX could be propped open just a sliver to let in additional air to keep from fogging in moments of unexpected precipitation or temperature drops.
That said I would recommend this helmet absolutely. I got the Hi-Viz yellow and really like it.
