Huge bang for the buck on these tires. I'm on my 3rd rear and 2nd front in 21k miles (the stock Pirelli tires wore out in 4k, so you do the math). All in all, I ride about 70% street very aggressively like a sport bike, and 30% as a dirt/gravel rider on gnarly dry stuff, but not sand or mud. These tires work well in dry dirt/gravel even at street pressures (better lower of course), and very good in all conditions on the street. Wet traction isn't as good a 90/10 or 80/20 tire, but still great. Tread life is just okay for the rear, like most real DS tire, so it's on par. That said, I can literally buy a full set of Shinko's for the price of one rear tire of another brand and after 16k on them on my Tiger 800xc can say I'm not changing brands.
So far it's been a good quality tire. Was excited by the way it looked when it was put on. Its been about a month so don't know how long the tread will last, I'm currently a daily rider and it's going steadily but not slow. But like I said I'm a daily rider so it's quicker for me. Especially riding a supersport.
Decided to give Shinko a try. Honda VTX1300T. Tire was out of round and would not balance without lots of weight added (still not exact). Already spent the money so decided to do the best I could. Daily commute to work is 80 miles round trip.
Very wobbly above 65mph and outright dangerous above 75. Wouldn't even think of cornering above 60. Tread life is decent. Have 13,620 miles on front and the cupping is now at the point it requires changing tires. No more Shinko for me.
I have run a set of the Shinko 777 6ply on my 2014 FLHXS and find them to perform as well as the Dunlops in wet and dry weather and might ad that I was very pleased with the 14.7K miles I optained as well. Just need to make sure you keep your air pressure where suggested.
Within moments of riding with these tires installed front and rear I knew I made a huge mistake buying them. Worn out Michelins were way better!
The Verges aged my Bandit instantly.
4K miles not smiles later I will pay for the Michelins next.
I don't recommend the verge!!
