Arai is the best helmet you will ever buy. I key to a good helmet is fit. Get your head measured. New this helmet is very snug but after 2-3 rides it fits like a glove. very light and quit. the peripherals are pushed way out and I was forgetting i even had a helmet on. Only thing that bugged me was the top at vent in the visor where distracting until i got you to them. Japanese hand made quality throughout.

Had my reservations regarding the Pro Shade system prior to purchase, but gave it a go anyway. The design of this system is quite clever. I really like having the sun shade available without compromising the integrity of the helmet. I just wish that the tinted visor was darker! It's pretty bright out here in the desert during the summer months and the brightness can be brutal. I don't want to mount the system on a tinted shield as I ride at night also. All in all, very pleased with the system. I ride a naked Low Rider S; no windscreen or fairing to speak of.

Good fit and like the visor. Gooden noise control and air flow. The lining feels a bit rough on my ears for some reason. However, for the price I expected to be "wowed". Feels better than my Vemar but no as good as my AGV Grid, and for the price difference I feel it should.

Never could afford one until now. Thanks superstore! Absolutely beautiful helmet, arrived on time and packaged well. Was floored at how beautiful it was when I pulled it out of box. Fits my eyeglasses great and even fits my bigger framed sunglasses.Totally happy!!!

When I bought an Arai helmet I thought I was buying the top of the food chain helmet. Not so. Let me start with the complaints. The face shield has nothing at all on it for fog! I have been ride with a Uvex for the last three years and it still does not fog up excpt for around the nose area. The first rain I ran through with this XD4 and the face shield fog up so bad I could not see anything. Open it a bit and still did not help. After the rain when I stopped for fuel I put my hand inside the helmet and was cleaning the outside of the face shield and it still fogged up! New out of the box after opening the face shield three or four times and it is scratched on the side. Really, Arai, you cannot do better than this? The XD4 is one of the noisiest helmets I have ever worn. Again, I compare it to my Uvex. I had better find something good to say about this very expensive helmet. It fits great. Riding all day and I did not have those painful little hot spots that some helmets give you. Also, with the peek you would expect some wind to pick it up push you around. With the XD4 I had very little trouble with this. I have some blown disks in my neck and fighting the wind and helmet all day can be a pain in the neck, I had very little trouble with this helmet. It does vent air much better than my Uvex. And it is lighter than my Uvex. Overall it is a good helmet. I am very shocked that Arai has not done something to keep their face shield from fogging up.
