They're a bit "iffy" for my 2009 Ninja 250 . . .
I needed to take the brake line out of a bracket so it would be loose enough with the risers installed. Fine. No problem. But, no one mentioned how tight the clutch cable would be! I rerouted it a bit (which was a big pain because it then came off at the engine end, and I struggled to figure out how to get it back on!), but it's still a little tight for total comfort. PLUS, my choke is a little weird now - I don't know if it's because the choke cable is also too tight now, or if I bumped something while messing around with the clutch cable. The bike seems to drive fine. I still commute on it every day, and I took an awesome 370+ mile trip last weekend. But, I'm going to have all the cables checked out at my 7,500 mile service next month. Other than these issues, installation of the risers, themselves, was 10 minutes. I THINK they make my ride more comfortable, but I'm not convinced they make a significant difference. That said, I would prefer to keep them on the bike (they can't HURT my comfort level, I'm sure), but if the mechanics say they're straining my cables, they're coming right off.
