I heard from the VFR List on google groups that the 2000-era VFR800's mirrors would fit without modification. Using the original 93 mirrors' gasket & plate/washer, the pair of EMGO mirrors fit right on. The only problem was that a socket for the original mounting bolts does not fit in the recessed bolt area. Can replace with either same length & threaded screws or Allen socket bolts, available at either well-stocked hardware stores or HD.

I bought a set of these mirrors form my gen1 Kawasaki EX500. The fit and worked just fine, but the rubber boots started drying out and cracking in less than a year. I wish I just bit the bullet and bought factory mirrors instead of wasting my money.

The "replacement OEM mirrors" I purchased for my 2003 Yamaha FJR1300 look fine, but are not replacements for the original mirrors. They do not provide enough tilt outward to look behind the motorcycle. There appears to be no remedy other than returning them. How strange that the designers didn't check this.

Was close enough in color and style to original that I did not have to replace both although it was slightly larger in mirror size. Was able to leave base in fairing and just replace mirror head and stem. Would use again if needing another part but just like any aftermarket product you have to decide if it is right for you and your bike.

My future son-in-law installed the mirrors on a Kawasaki 650 that I picked up at an auction...they look good, but cannot honestly comment much further.

First thing that is noticeable is the increased magnification compared to the stock mirror. This makes the vibration of the motor much more noticeable. Second You have to adjust the mirror several times if you go to higher speeds the wind causes it to move out of place.
