Tyler Schwend Lynchburg,  VA So this is the poor braking everyone talks about... I have a KLR 650 that looks like it still had the stock pads on it. I've put 7000 miles on it, and the whole time wondered what the "crappy braking" was that other KLR riders were talking about. After putting these pads on, I went from a two-finger braker to a full fisted white knuckled braker. I could not get any performance out of these pads. I bled my brakes, thinking maybe I somehow got air in the line... The brake feel was spongy and unresponsive, and I routinely would bring the brake lever back to the grip and still not be locking up the tire or braking with any reasonable force. After my brake bleeding, I still had spongy brakes. At this point, I figured my mechanical skills must just have been lacking. No way can brake pads make brakes feel so bad. On a labor day trip with the pads, after putting 1,000 or so miles on them, I took a break mid-trip at a Kawasaki dealership. With the heavy load and passenger I was carrying, the reduced brake performance was a huge safety issue. They took it for a test ride and agreed... my brakes totally sucked. They bled the front brakes twice... once manually and once, I guess, via vacuum. The mechanic took apart the brakes, cleaned them, etc... In the end, there was little improvement. They said perhaps I had stretched my brake lines, perhaps my rotor needed to be replaced... but definitely to switch back to Kawasaki factory pads. I don't know about Kawasaki pads, but I definitely won't be buying these again. I'll update (hopefully, if I can) this review if I replace the pads and performance still doesn't return, as that would indicate that it's not an issue with the pads. But holy crap, ever since I put these on stopping has been a nightmare.

james Homestead,  FL great breaks Put these on my GS 500 with a new rotor. They went on great not like the flea bay pads I got last year. Stopping power is better too, good buy.
