Excellent buy
Received these as a graduation gift from my dad for my 87 VFR. As stated before, initial set up can take some time. Once set up, however, the removal and re-instillation is a snap (only need to remove three straps). On my bike, the straps seem to loosen up and the bags slide forward towards me. No big deal as a simple butt slide back puts them back into place, but it is slightly annoying. The magnetic mount tank bag is a big plus, and it even has a map window. Overall, an excellent purchase if you only intend to take a few longer trips per year.

Great for the price
Bags worked great for the investment. I am sure there are better fitting, looking, and more durable bags around but you will pay for them. If you have an under tail elimination kit like me, you may need to get a little creative with mounting the saddle bags and tail bag.

Great for Trip around Lake Superior
These bags were the right price and great for my week long trip around Lake Superior! We had rain two days and the rain covers were quick and easy to zip out and put on...they did however not protect the best, some of my clothes that were touching the outside of the bag were wet. With that said I would still suggest these to anyone, we had hard rain for 8-10 hrs if the weather was lighter such as the first day I had no problem with wet clothes. All and all great bags for the price and if you’re worried about riding in the rain take several garbage bags and put your clothes in there first then the bags!

A pretty Good Deal!
After looking at a number of different gear bag configurations I finally settled on this 3 piece set. I read the reviews and they were right on. You need to work with the strapping a little bit to figure out the best way to mount the bags in your application but there are PLENTY of straps and ways to mount. You can mount these to just about anything. I am pleased with the construction quality. As others stated I don't know about the rain cover usage on the saddle bags but it’s there if I need it. The tank bag is a really nice magnetic mount type. All in all a very good value for the money.

A good value for Sportbikers who want bags
I have had these bags for three big trips and I have to say I have been impressed. The bags look nice, they hold up under the speeds I ride, and they are very durable. My only knock is that the clips could be a little better, but they worked for my bike with a little ingenuity. In any case, if you are looking for good bags at a good price, you can't beat this deal.

For the money, ya just can't beat it.
Motorcycle Superstore was very quick in sending these bags all the way across the US for cheap money. The very best company to do business with, bar none. That being said, the Dowco Bag Set very much exceeded my expectations. They seem to be sturdy enough, although as others have stated, the instructions beyond these bags go on a bike are next to useless. They come with plenty of straps, way more than enough, actually, for just about any mounting scenario you could dream up. The tank bag has fairly strong magnets, and also comes with straps to go around the triple tree area, and one with a quick-release buckle towards the seat area. I'm going strapless as the magnets seem plenty strong. The underside of the saddle bags I got are silver on the bottoms (heat protection?), and I think they'll look quite dirty and crappy in no time. I think that's my only complaint, though. They seem to have plenty of room for spare clothing, tools, your lunch, your cat, whatever... as long as they aren't weighed down too badly. Time will tell, but as the title says...
For the money, ya just can't beat it.

What a great set , fit my Buell XB9SX perfectly. The Buell is a compact bike. Was able to fasten securely and make them quickly detachable.

Great product
These bags fit great on my Honda,(CB250 Nighthawk). I don't think you can find a better set for the price. Like others said, the original set up took a bit of time but now, it's on and off in no time at all. I keep them on for the most part because they make my bike look bigger.

I went on a 2000 mile trip on my Ninja 250. For the most part they fit great, with the exception of the saddle bags. No problem really, you just need to rig something to strap them down to. I was well pleased with them and the price.

Perfect fit on my bike
Once I figured out the best way to utilize all the straps it gave my bike a real touring bike look. I put them on an 82 Honda sabre. They look like they were made for the bike. I also love the built in rain covers I use them alot.

Good Product But Fades Terribly
I got a set of these bags and installed them in my 1999 Yamaha Vmax. After approximately 11 months and 14,000 miles of use, they are still intact and useable even though they have faded terribly. Zippers and velcro still work. Stitching hasn't come loose anywhere. Hidden rain bonnets work reasonably well if you have advance notice to be able to use them. Would have been better if the bags themselves were waterproof!
I had a hard time getting them to fit at first but after MAKING THEM FIT, I can have them completely off and on again in under 5 minutes.

Can't beat the price
I bought the set for my Suzuki Bandit. They fit it well. The only problem I found is that the velcro closure on the tail bag was hard to seal if the bag was not full. Be aware the tank bag is not the magnetic one; it is the strap down type.

Dowco - Value 3-Piece Tank Bag Set
I put these bags on my 2005 R6 for a trip. They are really nice bags for the value. They have minor problems when they sag and touch the exhaust, but other than that they're great.

Great Value, good product.
I bought this set for my '07 SV1000S and was very happy with the way that it fits on the bike. For the cost, I think these bags are a great value, and I'm very happy with riding with them on. I did some triple-digit, long hauls with no problems, and even slipped the built in rain covers on when necessary, which helped keep all my stuff dry. Only have a couple of complaints/comments, and that is the zippers aren't the most sturdy, so careful use is recommended (no issues once closed and riding); second issue being the tank bag, which works perfectly well, though a magnetic one seems much more practical. In order to attach the strap for tension under the seat, several bolts were required to remove it first, and no good place to hide the strap if riding without the tank bag. Overall, I'm very happy though, and the bags are all easy to remove and carry along and also look very nice.

Great Value Luggage
This luggage is exactly what I was looking for. Considering the ultra low price, they are very nice. No real frills but nicely sized, look nice, are easy to use and seem sturdy enough. I would definitely recommend them to anybody that realizes that they don't need 80 little pockets in their saddlebags. My riding buddies want their own set after seeing mine.
