The GMRS X1 has a large illuminated display and is VOX (voice activated) or PTT (push to talk) with a built in intercom for talking to a passenger. Other features include cellular phone input (*call for compatibility), audio input with full stereo sound, radar detector, and voice prompted GPS input. All of these features packed into a tough water resistant casing.

Thomas Welch Watertown,  TN Chatter Box The mounting hardware is not very well thought out and it does not last very long. I just drilled two holes in the slide portion with the rubber backing and screwed the thing to my helmet. Keying the mic is louder then the talking. When someone other then your riding buddy keys in sometimes it is painful and it is hard to turn it down quick I sometimes just shut it off. It does work and communication while riding is safer and saves time and a lot of yelling though your helmet.

Chris Montgomery,  TX Love it....after I modified it a bit. The voice activated mic works so poorly it's not worth the trouble. I went to radio shack and bought a splitter for the push-to-talk button and added a second that I wired to the pillion for my wife. I bought a couple of extension cords and mounted the unit in my tank bag. Works GREAT this way and have been using it for well over a year now. Wouldn't leave home without it. Although I'll be trading it in on a Bluetooth model soon.
