  • The new Route 66 Intercom Throat Mic is a full duplex system and has a new generation transponder that requires only one mic for enhanced quality voice transmission. The neck ring is 50% larger in height and thickness with a new softer rubber covering. The new extension, which comes with the Route 66, allows the mic to fit virtually any neck size. These improvements keep the mics secure on the neck no matter how rugged the ride.
  • Another major improvement made in the new Route 66 is the option of speakers that may be used. The Route 66 mic comes with two small speakers with silicone tips that fit inside the ear. These may be worn with or without the new ear hooks. These speakers are very powerful and low profile to fit under any helmet. If you have some speakers you like, or have helmet speakers, just plug them into the standard audio jack built into the Route 66.
  • The intercom box also includes an audio input to attach an iPod, MP3 or CD player, radio or any audio device that has a 3.5mm output.

Charles Anderson Morgantown,  WV No Communication Very disappointed in this unit. My wife and I have 1/2 helmets and this seemed to be the best choice. However, the microphone is very difficult to get placed on your throat properly. When you think you have it (while parked) located in a good place on your throat, it is not very good at highway speeds. While moving, my wife tried moving the microphones to different locations on our necks, to no avail. We just could not get it placed to where we could hear each other very well. The ear buds worked fine.
