Tecmate Optimate 3 Battery Charger
  • Diagnoses, recovers, charges, checks and maintains batteries safely for months
  • Advanced fully automatic battery charger and maintainer for all 12V lead acid batteries from 2.5 to 28A hours capacity
  • This includes sealed and conventional batteries for motorcycles and similar vehicles, including dry-charged MF and sealed wet maintenance-free types and sealed deep-cycle gel batteries used in backup power and other applications requiring a steady delivery of power
  • Unique diagnostic function automatically identifies deeply discharged (sulphated) batteries and applies a controlled high voltage with small fixed current for a limited period to recover them
  • Includes two detachable, interchangeable battery connectors: a connector with eyelets for permanent connection and battery clips for bench charging
  • Gates adapter (sold separately) allows the OptiMate3 to be used with existing battery leads from other popular brands of battery chargers

Ernie Streamwood,  IL Best deal for the money This is my 2nd Optimate for use at my place in WI where I have snowmobiles and an ATV. My first one is presently keeping all my motorcycle batteries charged and let me know when one of them is getting too old and weak to charge. I've had the Battery Tender Jr. and it failed after 2 years. The Optimate does even more than the Battery Tenders!

Zofmui Milwaukee,  WI So far, so good Its winter here and it's keeping the battery in good shape. It's never warm and the battery is maintaining a full charge now for the past two months. We'll see how it did when next spring comes and I wake up Scooter out of hibernation.

A maintenance charger I got from a big box store for less than $20 would keep a shallow surface charge on my bike's battery, not enough to crank and start. With the Optimate III, the battery gets a deep charge, with plenty of reserve cranking power. Thanks to Optimate III, I didn't need to get a new battery.

Dawna Salem,  OH Tecmate Optimate III Battery charger Great purchase for any new motorcycle owner. I bought what was described as a 'trickle' charger that did not actually function as such. I ended up purchasing a new off market battery that was only 85% charged. When I read in a repair and maintenance manual about this particular charger, I decided the cost would be far outweighed in the future for not only restoring my original battery in less than 5 hours, but it charged the new one in about 7 hours. In short a must and great purchase! DLE

Scott H. Brown Ivins,  UT Gave my Battery Tenders away! I use one of the early versions of this charger as recommended by Westco for my Goldwing with fantastic results. Purchased the Optimate III here for my V-Strom and gave my old Battery Tender to a friend. The Techmate does a much more thorough job keeping the V-Strom's battery at full cranking capacity with noticeable results after the bike is parked for a full day in the cold weather. Also, this was the best price and cheapest shipping I could find. I will purchase from MC Superstore again!

Scott Goshen,  TN Optimate III Battery Charger Worked as promised - Charges relatively quickly and restored batteries that would not take a charge from my other chargers. I wish the adapter was the type of connection used on other battery chargers and many heated accessories (like my Eclipse Vest). I made my own intermediate adapter and all is fine.

Allistair C Leffler havre de grace,  TX Good product I was happy how easy it was to set and the extras it came with. I wasn’t too impressed on its battery recovery but I have 6 bikes and it did charge them pretty fast.
