Great tires. Just got them installed on my 1981 Yamaha XJ550. Ride is smooth and tires do an excellent job gripping the road.

Tires for ancient bikes too!

was looking specifically for this brand/model and the rear tire (installed previously) matches. I have a 1977 BMW R100S I bought and I want am restoring/improving it. Metzler tires are the standard and I went with that. This business had excellent pricing, so I went with it. What did I know? The place is awesome. I called on a Sunday, placed the 1st order, it got shipped on Monday, I got in Friday and it was installed on Sunday. Simple, easy, bulletproof. I will definitely come back here with my future business with price and service like this

Metzler Lasetec

Mounted two new Metzler LaserTecs to replace the Metzlers that came with the machine, an '07 Bonneville. I got 12k. miles of service from the first set. New ones are a great all around tire: speed, twisties, highway, wet, dry; and I expect the same high mileage from them. Great price and delivery time from Motorcycle Superstore as well.

great in the rain for a classic BMW airhead

I wanted a tire that would stick to wet pavement--there's plenty of it in Seattle. I don't think I could have purchased a better tire. My only advice is that you put 100 miles on them on dry pavement before you ride in the rain, because when they're new, they have a coating that makes them slip--not sure why the tire manufacturing companies think it’s okay to sell them like this.

Metz Lasertec 130/80H18 @ 42 lbs /=

I'm using this rear tire as a front on my 05 Goldwing. The tire is smooth at any speed and without any buzz in the handlebars. It corners great, sheds water, good traction. Haven’t had it long enough to know the tread life but estimate around 16K. Going by previous similar tires. If the miles work out it will be a keeper.

Excellent tire, great price

I have a 500 sport bike and this tire has been great for me. I felt instant improvement on cornering and stability. I have had it long enough to comment on the tread life, and I don't bother riding in the rain, so wet traction is unremarkable. Great price with even better cornering. I like the tread pattern, gives the bike a nice look, too.

Metzeler - Lasertec: Great Tractionat a nice Price

Between Motorcycle Superstore's low prices and the Lasertec's traction and performance for me to date, this is a great buy. I ride daily, nearly 800 miles per week in commute alone and I needed a tire that clings to the road, rain or shine. Needless to say, if I'm commuting on a bike to save money, I don't want to waste all my savings on over-priced tires. My better half also rides to work, nearly as many miles as I do and he's had his Lasertec for a year already. Tread life has been great so far for him which is why we purchased the same tire for me. For the price and performance, you can't go wrong.

Metzeler Lasertec Rear Tire

I find this to be an excellent tire. My Honda power cruiser has shaft drive that makes most tires slide during hard acceleration or deceleration. For me, this tire provides the best traction to wear ratio. The original Dunlop it came with lasted longer, however, it slid when accelerating especially in curves. On wet roads the Metzler does a great job dispersing the water to provide the best traction I have had in wet riding.

the return of an old friend

I've bought my '95 BMW R100R Classic used and it came with Metzelet Tourance tires, front and rear. Not my first choice ..... Handled okay and slightly better on the occasional dirt road. But for street riding, not as good as what I seemed to remember from the OEM Metzeler Lasertecs. So when the time came to replace the tires, I switched back to Lasertecs and couldn't be happier. As per the title of my review: it's the return of an old friend.

metzeler lasertech

I mounted the rear tire on my 2010 Triumph Bonneville T100 a little over a month ago. I have put almost 1200 miles on it. The Lasertech has performed great. It hugs the road in the tight turns in the Smokey Mountains and runs smooth on the freeway. I was forced to ride 5 hours in wet conditions ranging from wet pavement to drizzle even got caught in a thunderstorm. The tire held the road great. I have been very happy with this tire and will definitely replace this one with another one when the time comes.

Great stability and grip wet and dry.

This is my second set of Lasertecs on my 2001 Kawa W650. They are a huge improvement over the original Accolades. The Lasetecs track perfectly from 10 to 110 mph. I ride hard so I need the grip but the tires wear too fast to my liking: 8000K on the rear and the front might go to 12000.

Great on an XS650

I put a matched pair of Lasertecs on my 1980 Yamaha XS650 when I rebuilt the chassis. I couldn't be more pleased. The bike probably never handled as well when new. I use this bike for all weather commuting at night, and the rain traction is what I bought them for. I was not disappointed; the superb dry pavement handling is a bonus.

Lasertec rear

This is my 4th or 5th set for my 1986 FZ750. Slippery when new (aren't they all?) but break in nicely. Too much straight up riding hurts tread life but that's life on the expressway. Recommend continuous swerving for best ROI.

Metzeler rear tire

Since I have 3 older BMWs they call for this tire and other people recommended them. I have them on my other bikes and except for the most recent bike I just got that had alignment issues and a swing arm off center these tires seem great so far. I would recommend them to others and your company had the best deal. Thanks and great job look forward to doing more business...

great tire

This is a great tire, wet or dry, but it seems to "sing" a little bit in the corners on long sweepers. I rode about 2,000 miles this weekend and it rained 30% of the time. I never had any concerns with the traction it provided.

H2 tire fitment

I've had Metzlers on my 72 H2 before (they were called Perfects, not Laser Tecs in prior form) so I know this tire well. Being that my choice of tire is limited, it is fortunate that the one that is available is as good as it is. Believe it or not, my 72 Kawasaki 750 H2 actually handles very well. People who know this bike think of it as an ill handling, straight line performer. This is far from the case. I am able to keep pace with most sport bikes in the twisties (unless someone is intent on killing themselves) and this tire is one of the reasons. Tires aside, my experience with Motorcycle Superstore was exemplary. They were fast to ship my items (tires, tubes and IRC rim strips) and most pleasantly, were the least expensive venue for the products I ordered. I would definitely use them again.

Nice Soft Tire

Bought this for the wife's 05 Moto Guzzi Nevada. It's the stock tire that comes with the motorcycle. Nice soft ride. Smooth ride. You will only get about 8000 miles before it is worn down to Nadar Mark. (wore Out)

Great tire for 1 season

I loved this tire but I had to replace it with less than 4,000 miles on it-mounted on the rear of my BMW R75/6. Great traction and cornering though. Not long on life. I did buy another though since I trusted the stability and grip.

Fine, versatile skins

I bought a pair of Lasertecs to replace a set that served me well for 10K miles on my K75s BMW. After mounting and balancing, I was pleased to find them so responsive and sticky without any break-in. The last set never gave me any surprises and always felt anchored, no matter how I pushed them. I might get a set for my other bike. They appeared on my front porch a few days after my order.

Always a decent tire. I wouldn't mind a bit more tread life--the rear seems to square off quicker than the Michelin counterpart but I keep coming back because of the performance.

Metzeler Lasertec Bias Sport Touring Rear Tire

Needed a rear tire for my 1983 Yamaha Midnight Max 750, and this turned out to be a great match. Very happy with the smooth ride, and minimal tire noise. Not driven in the rain yet, so we will have to find out about handling then.

Standard rear tire for BMW /5

Went to the BMW rally in Redmond and did an inventory. Most of the airheads I saw were running this as the rear tire. There are only a couple of options if you want to stay with stock tire size, and this one doesn't look as 21st Century as the others. Experience so far indicates good traction and feel in warm dry running. No surprises there.

Metzeler - Lasertec Bias Sport Touring Rear Tire 130/80 17

This bias tire should have been the original equipment instead of the radial on the rear of Triumph Bonneville / T100s. Good match to the bias front Metzeler. Have not yet ridden with it in the rain, and too few miles to determine tread life.

Ten times better bike

I got the Lasertec front and rear, they work fabulous together. With the Dunlops it wandered all over the road and cornered like a truck. Now I can flick my Guzzi in the turns the way it wants to be ridden. Oh yeah go for Dyna beads ASAP also.

switching back to Dunlops

This was a great tire all around for stability cornering and handling. I have a 06 Harley Dyna Lowrider and tried Metzlers on it for the 1st time. Only complaint is that after 4500 miles both tires are worn out and I'm replacing both tires. I need tires that will last thru the riding season here.

Good dry traction and cornering but LOW mileage

This is the stock tire on my Guzzi V7 Classic. I was pleasantly surprised by the great traction and cornering on dry pavement(I avoid riding on wet if I can). However, I was also unpleasantly surprised by the fact that, after just 3,500 miles, the center section of the rear tire is completely worn out (BTW, I weight only 145 lbs). The front tire did not last much longer, but it wore out first on the shoulders (no chicken strips' to be seen on either front or rear tire).

Lasertec tire issues

I put a pair of Lasertecs on my 1979R100RS about 3000 miles ago. I find the rear tire now has extensive cracking in the tread and sidewalls. This tire is clearly defective. I am currently seeing if Metzeler will stand by their product.
