Ordering my second set for my dl650 looked around for a different set to try out,but from my experience and what research I've done, Battlewings are the way to go. Good milage out of these tires to boot.

This is the second one I've put on the rear. Last one had over 10k miles on it and I don't "take it easy" on my tires. Good overall traction for a 90/10 tire, obviously better on street but still fair or better on trails and harder pack dirt. Sidewalls are quite rigid and give good feel in stability and cornering.

I really like these tires on my V-Strom! I have 60K miles on the bike and have gone through many tires and these are the best I have tried. I changed the last one at 7.5K miles. It would have gone at least another 2K but I was starting another long trip of over 3.5K. It was a little squared off but that is to be expected after 7.5K of highway miles. Price is good, handling is great, and mileage also good. This is a street tire, not good in the dirt, but I expect many V-Strom riders are like me and do very little riding off road.

These are some great tires. I rode them lightly for 100 miles to break them in. The next day I took some twisties pretty hard, and the tires felt very stable in the turns....much better than the stock trail wings. Traction is excellent in dry pavement. The tires do pretty well on gravel, but at higher speeds (over 30mph) I felt that the rear end was a little loose, but that's to be expected on tires intended for 90% street. I haven't ridden on wet pavement yet, and after just a few hundred miles can't really comment on tread life, but so far it appears to be an excellent value.

Among the many adventure tires available, the Bridgestones are a good value and ride at least as well, if not better, than the Michelins

I've had five sets of these on the DL650 over the years. This goes to prove that for the money this seems to be the best all around tire for my application. I've rarely gotten more than 6k out a rear tire but that might be attributed to my riding style. Good tire on road but I wouldn't venture too far off the packed/paved surfaces.
