Grip, Mileage and Cost -- A winner in all categories
I have these tires mounted on a Honda CB-1 in stock sizes. I was skeptical because of Avon's billing as a commuter tire. My skepticism has gone completely unfounded. Where many of the people who use this tire use as "something cheap that fits," I'm the complete opposite. I spent a weekend with these tires in the mountains of N. Carolina at what would be considered a 9/10ths street pace. Knee dragging on NC-181 and TN-421 through Shady Valley left no question in my mind of this tire's grip. The next day we spent riding around in the rain. Repeated attempts to break the rear tire loose on wet pavement turned up nothing but grip. I can't say what these would be like on the race track, but that's not really the purpose of this tire. To top it all off, they look brand new after 1000 miles of duty. No flat-spotting whatever. You won't be disappointed.

Side Wall Cracks
I have brand new, under 4 month old AM26's with less than 500 miles on them. Both front and rear are showing sidewall cracks near the rim. Don't even have the nubs off them yet. There is a problem with this tire.

AM26 Roadrider Front Tire
I've had two of these tires and the first one didn't have 300mi. on it when it had to be replaced. The second one has never been ridden on and now it’s bad. They develop severe cracks in sidewall close to rim.
