scott overland park,  KS Definite improvement Was almost certain that I was going to sell my 1200 Sportster Custom, thinking that new tires might help sell it..... ordered on Friday and received 9 days later. Had the local Harley techs install them and it was like falling in love again!!!! Handles 100% better, tire design is great on the front tire, mediocre on the rear which could use more lettering in my opinion. Corners/curves normally taken at 30 mph now taken at 50 mph, Very solid confidence building tire. A great tire for the money!!!

Greg B Pittsburg,  CA Shinko 230 Tour Master front Tire Great tires! I purchased the set as my original tires that came with my 2006 VTX1300C, they were starting to show some wear at 17410 miles. I read the reviews on the Shinkos prior to purchase and I am pleased to say that I am sold! These tires have more than lived up to the hype, 600 miles so far.

homan rupert Cosby,  TN Shinko 230 touring tire Excellent fit (front and rear) used on Triumph Bonneyville. Tires seem to be very tacky on dry pavement. Have not used bike in wet weather, therefore, cannot verify wet road performance. Have only 1000 miles on tire so wear is still in question (so far so good). Appears to be a great tire for the money, compared to the Bridgestones I usually run. Excellent service and delivery from Motorcycle superstore....thanks guys.

G Richmond,  VA Too soon to know for sure but OK so far Not enough miles on this tire to tell durability yet which is why I rated all items as a "3" (average). Tires arrived promptly. Appeared to be 'fresh', etc. When mounted/balanced (not by me) seem to ride well.

Jerry Longview,  WA Shock Factor I had both front and back tires replaced with Shinko 230 Tour Masters. I have about 600 miles on them and I have to say I can’t imagine a better tire. This is a fantastic tire at a fantastic price from a fantastic company. I ordered my tires on a Friday and they arrived early enough on Monday that I had them installed that afternoon at a "preferred installer". Buy'em!!

steve akron,  OH Shinko - 230 Tour Master Front Tire and 230 Tour Master Rear Tire. Have had the tires for just a month so I can't give an accurate judgment on the durability. Everything else is great. Rode them in the rain with no ill effects although I was somewhat reluctant to push them on a wet curve (as I would with any other tires). The price was great and free shipping was a great bonus. I will write back in (hopefully) 5-6 K miles and let you know about the durability.

Steve Auburn,  CA Absolutely Awesome Tires Put a set of these tires on my V-Star 1100 Silverado Saturday morning, replacing my 2nd set of Dunlop D404 tires. I went for a ride on my favorite 250 mile loop through the Tahoe National Forest in the afternoon. What an incredible transformation. These tires virtually turned a 700+ pound cruiser into a sporting standard. Incredible grip, smooth and stable ride over cracked and broken pavement, and super quick side to side transitions. Far superior to the Dunlops in every way. Absolutely awesome tires.

Michael Empire,  AL Trail of tears 09 three day rain I purchase front and rear and couldn't be happier. I crossed the Smokey's on the Tail of the Dragon heading into Cherokee for the Trail of Tears ride. No slips, slides or oh my's. Braking was fantastic. I have never felt so comfortable in the rain before. I WILL BUY AGAIN. I have used so many brands over the years and these the best by far you can go wrong on a all weather tire.

Trey West Memphis,  AR Shinko tourmaster 230 I have put about 1000 miles on this tire. I bought this tire in a leap of faith on the previous reviews and others I found on different forums on the internet. I will admit I was looking for the cheapest way out on my purchase but quickly as my previous front tire was completely bald. This tire arrived at my door step in about 1 week and the price was in my range (LOW). I had it mounted and rode my bike relatively mildly for the first 100-200 miles to break the tire in. I was surprised at the way the tire handled. After the break-in I immediately started riding like I usually do, VERY aggressive. I do ride a 2006 VTX1300C and this is far from a sport bike but I do like to lean hard in the corners. This tire handled the bike and my riding style well. Rides smooth and comfortable. Tracks well and I have not noticed any drift. I did use Dynabeads for balancing instead of traditional lead weights. I do not know how much of a difference this makes as it is also my first time using Dynabeads. I would recommend this tire and have done so to a couple of friends looking for tires now. I rated durability a 3 as I have only about 1000 miles on the tire and cannot speak to this yet. I will say that in the 1000 miles I have noticed no wear. Seems to hold well so far. I am also running about 40psi in the tire. This makes the ride a little stiffer but will, in my experience, make the tire last longer.

Brian L Phelan,  CA Shinko 230 Tourmaster tires This is my third set of 230's; great tire for the price, they work well in all road conditions and weather. I ride all year round in SoCal and they handle great and last longer than any other brand. I use them on my 54hp cruiser and I'm a pretty aggressive rider.

Clay Yadkinville,  NC Shinko 230 Tourmaster Tire seems fine. Balance was way off. No traction problems. Only 1000 miles on it to date so no wear comments. The tire does appear to be larger (wider and taller) than the tire it replaced which was a Metzler of the same size

Scott R Grand Prairie,  TX Shinko 230 Tour Master Front Tire I needed a new set of tires, like yesterday. As usual, I was also needing a good deal. Got both front and back tires shipped to my door from Motorcycle Superstore for 100 dollars cheaper than the nearest competitor. Never had this brand before, but so far have been impressed. Even got to test them out (not by choice) in a heavy downpour. Never seemed to lose grip with the road. Have only had the tires for just about a month, so long term review is not available. For now, I'd recommend the tires for those on a budget, and for those who are looking for a good tire for the money. I wouldn't say there as good as Metzelers, but they are better than the Dunlops I was replacing.

Carl H Denver,  CO Shinko - 230 Tour Master Front Tire I have had the tire on my Intruder 1400 for a month now riding on weekends covering about 500 miles in the mountains and city driving about 300 miles. This front tire has been very trusting in corners and on wet pavement at speeds of 90mph and with each turn I become more trusting in this tire. Fitting was very E-Z balancing no-problem. For the price Amazing. And not a bad looking tire, My only dis-like is that the rear Shinko Tour master 170/80 was not as wide as my metzler 88 about an inch thinner for some reason.

Randy Orange Grove,  TX Shinko - 230 Tour Master Front Tire I was scared to order a tire that was half as much as the other tires but after reading the other reviews on this tire I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. I just got back from a 3,000 mile trip to Colorado, the tire works very well in the curves, I didn’t ride on any wet roads, holds a straight line, doesn’t follow grooves in the road, looks like it is wearing very well, going to buy it again when this one wears out.

Ron G Hillsborough,  NJ Man what a difference These tires make a big difference in the handling of my bike. I went 20 over on the front which works really well on my bike and it's like a have a new bike. Much more stable in both the turns and on the highway and the bike now tracks much better when the road gets twisty. I'd buy them again.

Fish Empire,  AL 230 tour master Front In the past month since first putting these tires on. 4 real hard road flooding rains, up to 6 inches or more water on the road. Then twice ending up on freshly road done road scraping where its dirt, rock and maybe some pavement. I have to say without a doubt I love these tires. NO SLIP, NO SLIDE and most of all none of me under the bike. Grip is all some people. I WILL GET ANOTHER SET FOR MY T_BIRD and when these wear out another for my Speedmaster.

Bob McCarthy Washington,  PA 1985 GL1200 Interstate Ive only put 1400 miles on the tires (front and rear). I will say it was an unbelievable deal. I have had the bike into a corner shaving the foot pegs down at speed as well as motorofficer training (5 mph), had it at 65 mph in a downpour just last weekend. I have had it at 90 mph. They are quiet and smooth. I LOVE THEM! We shall see what kind of mileage I get.

David Stevensville,  MI Shinko 230 Tour 110x90x19 About 1000 miles on these bad boys and they still have the nipples on them - great wear. Most important to me however is how quiet they are - no road noise at any speed. Road seams don't exist anymore; even the tar-slicks don't seem to affect these tires. Great price from MSS and good delivery. Love the appearance, both from the side and the front.

Joe Deming,  NM Shinko Front and Rear Tires I purchased a set of these 230's on the recommendations of others on this page. What a bargain. I am totally pleased with these tires. I replaced a set of Dunlop 404s and there is no comparison. The Shinkos handle and corner well at high and low speed and there's NO wandering on uneven surfaces. Also, ordered them and had them in 4 days. Good service. I'm giving them a 3 for durability cause I only have 1000 miles so far.

Jeff Tarbell Berkeley,  CA Great Tire, Great Price After searching the web for new motorcycle tires, I decided on a pair of Shinko 230s for my 82 Honda CX500C. I bought the bike used and the IRCs that were on her were trashed. I ordered them online and they were delivered in a matter of days. I took my wheels off the bike and the new Shinkos to a local dealer to get balanced & mounted. I drove it for the first time this weekend and, WOW, what a difference it makes. This bike is top-heavy, with a fairing, and I used to have to worry about over steering into corners, but with the new Shinkos, it now just glides along as if on rails. I realize now what I'd been missing all along. I can't really speak to durability yet, but everything else - quality, construction, tread pattern, price - is completely top-notch. I would recommend these tires without question. They will take your riding to the next level.

Tom Ferndale,  WA Shinko 230 Tour Master front tire on my '84 Goldwing Aspencade This tire replaces a Dunlop Elite II on my Goldwing 1200. I have to say I'm very happy so far with this tire. It rides very smooth and quiet. I only hear a slight shhhhhhh when riding next to a wall or barrier and who knows if this will continue after the tire wears in. It's very good on grooved freeway pavement and has a light steering feel at low speeds. Some tires make the steering heavy at low speeds and this tire isn't one of them. It also transitions nicely when going from a straight line into a curve. It makes a heavy bike feel lighter. I gave it a 3 for durability and features because I've only had it a month and couldn't leave these fields blank. If I get decent wear on this tire I'll be ordering another one without hesitation when the time comes. Can't beat it for the price and I'm not really sure what gains I'd get from buying a tire that cost 2 - 3x as much!

Greg Peoria,  IL Not bad, but the jury is still out When I went to have this tire mounted on the front wheel of my Gold Wing, the tech at the Honda shop said it was a cheap tire and he could not get it balanced properly, and that it still had some wobble. He may have just been trying to shame me into buying tires from him, because I've ridden on it for a couple of hundred miles, and have noticed no such issues at all. The durability remains to be seen, but for normal riding at legal speeds, I haven't had any problems so far.

Ernest B. Tucson,  AZ Rilly nice cheap tires Trying to rehab my GPz Turbo on a budget. Shinkos seem to be decent cheap tires, from Korea, not China. They look pretty nice in an 80's sort of touring tire way. Have no idea how they'll wear, and I'm fairly post crotch rocket, so adequate handling and V rating are plenty for my needs! Ron Luman Nacogdoches,  TX customer I purchased a set of Shinko tires several months ago and love them. They provide a smooth stable ride on both dry and wet pavement. The price was great and the tires seem to be every bit as good as the premium tires I have used in the past. I recommend Shinko as a great value.
