Shinko 009 Raven rear tire
I installed this tire on a ST1300 and rode 3,000 miles the first week. Twenty four hundred miles of Interstate and 600 miles of twisties. The tread depth started at 7.5 mm new and is now 4mm after 3,000 miles. The grip seems very good. The Shinko seems taller than the Dunlops and Bridgestones that came stock, which helps reduce the speedo error a little. The 009 Raven is significantly cheaper than the popular replacements for the ST and will be a great replacement if it can go 9-10K miles. Only downside is that Shinko doesn't make a from tire for the ST 1300.

009 Raven Rear Tire
This is a good looking tire. It has a little flatter profile than the Bridgestone I am replacing it with, but for street riding, commuting it should be fine. Only time will tell how durable it will be, but for the price it should be hard to beat. Motorcycle Superstore is great.

good tire great price
My son put this rear shinko on his 98 zx6r so we could do sunday 350 round trip. we hit some curves and I couldn't keep up with him with my diablo stradas. It's a good looking tire he gets incredible lean from it and it hooks up very well. He's very satisfied!!

Excellent Cheap Tire
I am an aggressive rider, wheelies, hard take offs and fast turns. This tire has lasted longer than any other brand tire I’ve tried. The only downsides are, wet traction when it is cold outside and cold weather. This tire lays over in turns like nobody's business, and holds up to a beating. I'm running it on a GSX-R 1000 with mods. Already ordered another one, highly recommend if you hate buying tires as often as I do.

A Sport Touring tire at less than $100! Smooth riding, nice grip and decent mileage single compound tire. I don't think the tread wraps up the side as far as my RoadSmarts did so I'm leary of cornering on the edge.

New Tire
I bought this new tire to replace the Battlax from Bridgestone. The cost was a good thing and the tire is the best for the money! The tread pattern is good and have had no problems in every aspect of the riding that I do. I will replace this tire with another Shinko tire when it is that time again!

WOW Im impressed
I just got the Shinko raven on my bike. I have a 95 zx6r with a 200 bore kit . Let me tell wow these hook up great. I have metzler m3"s b4 and I will never buy those again. You pay half the price and if they don’t last long you still save money. I went through my m3 in a yr and a half, not burn-outs just 4500 miles and they were toast. Ill keep my fingers crossed on how these hold up so far so good!!!!

THE RAVEN
I put the raven on my zx11 it handles pretty good ,I have put about 500 mls on it so far in and out of rain it held it's own, even in some curves again it held its own, it takes a little time to heat up,I guess that is why it has a long lifespan. One of my brothers had one on his BUSA has even taken down the track a few times it hooks well after a couple of passes. Overall it is a very good tire for the price.

So far, so good. Really can't beat the price.
The raven is a great tire so far. Have about 300 miles on them, so can't tell on long term wear, but they stick well in general cornering(just do street riding, no track time so haven't pushed that hard), not quite as forgiving on cushioning bumps as the pilot powers, but not bad. At half the price installed, it is by far the best bang for the buck and as a budget conscious rider, that is huge. I ride a 2003 Yamaha R6 and really love the Shinko raven tire.

Shinko Raven 009 rear tire
I picked up this tire after reading the reviews. Came in for $102 shipped! The tire is a 180/55/17. I've had it about a month and 300 miles. I like this tire. Haven't had any trouble with it sliding or anything like that. I would recommend this tire to anyone that's budget challenged! If you're only into the big names and have to have one of the most expensive tires out there, then go for it. I'll hold with what I got!

This tire sticks to the road very well, and I recommend it. Most tires I have used get humps and flat spots on them because I trailer on freeways a lot. This one does not do that. Good in rain too. Much lower cost is a great benefit.

Shinko - 009 Raven Rear Tire
I've put about 5000 miles on this tire in the last couple of weeks, and am happy with it's traction and wear. I've only had about a hundred miles of rain, none in the curves, so don't have an opinion for that yet. I feel I'll get ~8000-10,000 miles from it, making it similar to Azarios or PR 1/2's for me. For my style of riding, on an FJR, it is a very good value.

Shinko - 009
Bought this tire because of it's price, and general wear patterns as found on some web boards. I'm happy with it's performance, it has offered plenty of grip during sporty riding, and is competent on the street, or highway as well. Overall, the Shinko 009 Raven appears to be a great tire for the money.

Shink Raven
The tread on these tires does not wrap around as far as on Michlin road, I do not have chicken strips on these tires. Rain traction is good, but dry corner speed is limited, I have had these slip when the Michlin would not. I will not buy these tires again unless to sell the bike. This tire is not suited for moderate to aggressive sport riders, or even moderately aggressive sport touring riders. It will work well for everyone else though, and has very good tread depth so I expect the tire to last for a lot of miles.

Save some money on tires
I have had so many sets of these tires simply because they are that good. No other tire will give me the mileage the ravens will. I do lots of street riding, 40000+ a year. And yes that's not a misprint. Forty thousand plus miles. I commute on the highway during the week, and tear up the back roads on the weekend. These are the best street tires for the money.

Gives me confidence on my sportbike
I commute on the highways, busy city streets, and curvy back roads with my CBR 600RR and these tires have never disappointed me. The grooves seem deeper than other brands so it gives me extra confidence in wet conditions. The profile is round so it gives me stability during high straight-away speeds but also turn-in very easily. This is a great all around tire. I will expect to get about 8000+ miles on these tires. You can't go wrong with the price!

Can't beat the price
I think the 009 Raven rear tire is a great buy, especially for an everyday bike or commuter bike. I have a 06 ZX-10 and I think the rear tire is great and you can't beat the price, but I would recommend a 005 or 003 Shinko front tire b/c the 009 front wobbles at speeds above 120 and when you quickly accelerate. I think the rear will stand up to aggressive street riding but not the 009 front tire, but if you’re just looking for a commuter tire it’s a great buy.

Awesome Tires!
Bought a set of 009's for my 01 F4i after a buddy of mine took a chance on these tires on his 929RR... I went to these from meztler sportec's.. My bike rides soo much smoother now... some recommend not taking these tires to the track.. But I took a chance on them to see how they would do.. They performed flawlessly... I couldn't believe how sticky they got.. My buddy on his 929 has gotten 4 track days out of his.. And I just got done with my first track day on them.. I would come off the track after 12 or so laps.. And they were sticky as hell.. Even to the touch.. They never once felt like they were slipping or sliding at all.. Great tire for the buck.

THIS IS MY SECOND SHINKO, MY FIRST WAS THE STEALTH IT WAS A GOOD HOOKING TIRE BUT WORE DOWN PRETTY FAST. I HAD IT ON MY ZX11 AND I GOT ABOUT 5000 MILES ON IT, THE BURNOUTS DIDN'T HELP REPLACE IT WITH A BATTLE AX VERY GOOD MILES ,BUT THE RAVEN HAS PROVEN TO BE VERY DURABLE AND RELIABLE ON MY BROTHERS 06 BUSA ON AND OF THE TRACK LIFETIME WAS ABOUT 6000 MILES THAT IS PRETTY DECENT FOR THE PRICE.MOTORCYCLE SUPERSTORE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I have put these Ravens on front and rear on my buell. They handle really well. These are great tires for street fighter style bikes. Don't spend all the money on those stock Scorpions. These are very comparable and hold the road really well. Plus you can't beat the price. These are highly recommended. Great for the streets

Shinko-009 Raven......love it!!!!
Have a GSXR-750 that I ride to work and on weekends, and any other chance I get. That’s the point right. Purchased the bike with a pilot power on the front and a metz on the rear. Both good tires (rear was brand new) they did well, 4200mi rear showed cords. Replaced with 009 raven, I love it, holds well in corners first time out got caught in rain on 2-lane asphalt with no problems. Just put on a 009 front last night, looks good, works good, only 400mi on rear so durability unknown yet but looks good so far. Now keep in mind there are lots of high end tires out there, and they do what they are designed to do, but I don't do track days, and I think if your main concern is your chicken strips then please stay on the track not on the street. Great tire for the money.

Shinko Raven 009 - Rear
Put it on my 2002 Suzuki Bandit. This tire, once warmed up, can really grip. Don’t let the "no-name brand" argument scare you away. This replaced a Dunlop Qualifier. People who have actually used this tire are happy with it, and now I am one of them. It looks pretty cool too. It takes a little time to get used to it (interesting different lean entry), but once I did, I am really- really- satisfied with my purchase. The price @ motorcycle superstore is great as well!

Long life but that comes at a price...
Okay, I've had this thing on my 99 F4 for a year with about 8,000 miles on it so long life is no problem out of these things, a very good commuter tire with some pretty decent grip. They have a flatter profile so they are slower to turn in but they grip well enough that I got an 1/8" or so chicken strip but they are so hard this is a bad thing. Unless 7000 of the 8000 miles you ride are spent on the sides of the tire then you are going to wear the center down a lot more than the sides...I'm starting to get a depression in the middle that goes all the way around the tire so it's time for some new rubber but alas, 8000 miles on one set is killer and I don't baby them. These tires WILL force you to become better at controlling the throttle on exits because they will slip. Overall though, at 100 bucks or so for a 180 rear the cost benefit is through the roof, compare that to a 200+ corsa III that you'd be lucky to get a few thousand miles out of. If you have a long ride to work and you ride your bike a lot like me these tires are the ticket.

Great tire for money!
I"ve had this tire for about 500 miles now and I have to say that I"m impressed! I was really nervous about buying a tire that was to cheap from a relatively unknown company. I was used to riding on Pirelli Diablo's and Diablo Corsa for my CBR 954. I am moving to an area that has much straighter roads so I needed a harder compound tire. These fit the bill perfectly. As I still live in the mountains, I took them out and thrashed them both by myself and with a passenger. Broke them in edge to edge and have yet to feel an unnerving amount of slide. They stick very well. I'm just hoping that I get tons of mileage out of them. Wouldn't take them to the track, but hard street riding is just fine. Great buy!!!

I have this on a ZX 14 , I have put 2000 miles on it so far and far beats the Michelin that I took off. Shinko Raven Thumbs Down
Thought I would save a few bucks and get the Ravens... bad idea. They handle well in corners, but I have about 2000 miles on them and am now having to search for a new tire just about! I do however have them mounted on my Honda Superhawk, so the big V-twin may be the cause of this problem. Next time I will spend the extra $30 and get a better tire, chances are I will not run Ravens again.

Regarding to the other posts that I have seen for this tire. The grip is the same as my battlax but I did notice a change in the way the bike behaves when I’m slappin her from side to side lol. It looks wider than my battleax 190 ??>>maybe i am getting old at 32. Other than that, I freakin love it my 1st 10000 mile tire for my 954 for $ 100.00 .LIKE MAC D IM lovin it!!!!

I put this tire on my 05 gixxer 750. The fit is great and the grip is amazing, I didn’t think it would grip as good as it does since it’s a cheaper tire. And right now I have a little over 2000 miles on it and it seems to have at least another 2000 or more to go. Very pleased with this tire.

So I needed a new rear tire on my 2003 sv1000s, I went to the local motorcycle shop and they wanted almost $300 for one, so I bought the shinko 009 raven, My bike rides the smoothest it ever has, awesome grip on the road, I like this tire better than my toyo I had before this! Shinko - Awesome, NOT Stinko!
About 1500 miles on my first set and I love them. If they continue to wear as little as they have so far, I will definitely be buying another set for my FJR. Performance is on par with the BS Battleaxe 021's I took off most recently, although I did notice that steering is quicker because of the more rounded profile. The only minor complaint was the rear required almost 2 oz to balance out.

I love these tires, I’m on my second rear, I was a little too hard on the first. Still able to get 3000 miles out of it. I just returned from a trip into the smoky Mountains where we put 1100 miles on in three days. Rode for 4 hours in the rain. Are there stickier tires out there? Yes, but you can't beat the price. Shinko Raven Rear Tire
Immediately after replacing both front and rear tires with Shinko Ravens, I took an 1100 mile ride throughout southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. The riding varied from straight 4 lanes to wonderful twisties. Although I am not a super aggressive rider, the tires handled great. At the end of the ride I inspected the tires and was pleased to discover I had scuffed them to within one half inch of the edges of the tread width. (Front and rear). I never once felt the tires were unstable or loosing traction. With approximately 1400 miles on the pair, there is no discernable wear so far. When the time comes to replace these tires, I would not hesitate to purchase them again.

Great and affordable tire
I purchased the set of tires and had them put on. I've gotten about a thousand miles out of them and they are great so far. I'm really impressed with the handling and durability of the tires. Me and a group of friends took a ride to Deal's Gap (a.k.a. The Tail of the Dragon = 318 turns in 11 miles) and the tires were awesome. I really got to test how well they actually handled and they were awesome! Now I’m just waiting to see how many miles I can get out of them, but so far I’m pretty sure that I'll be buying another set when I run these off.

Excellent tire
I got these tires put on my 05 kawasaki z750s and it handles like a different bike, the roll in is much smoother than the oem bridgestone battllax and they stick real nice when warm, I was a little apprehensive at first because I had not heard of shinko before and being so less expensive I wasn’t sure about them. With them on I do feel confident cornering, they stick great and for the price they can’t be beat. They look pretty aggressive too. I would recommend these tires to anyone wanting a good tire for a good price The only thing I can't rate yet is durability because I’ve only had them on for a couple of days, thanks Motorcycle Superstore.

Slow to warm up.
These are the best tires for the price I have seen, I have 3,000 Miles on mine so far and they still look new. The downside is they don't grip well until they are good and hot and the warm up time is slow. The ride at speeds over a hundred isn't the best either. But for an everyday commuter tire they are definitely worth the price.

Great Tire for the Price
Had this tire put on an '08 'Busa a few hundred miles ago and have not been disappointed. My daily commute is along several winding county roads and the tire performs well at higher speeds even with a passenger. Aesthetically, the tire looks a lot more aggressive than the stock Bridgestone that did not even last 4000 mi. We'll see how this one fairs in the long run. Oh, and the price was unbeatable.

Good price for a good tire.
I put 7K on a Metzeler M3 prior to the purchase of the Shinko Raven. I thought at first the ride was harsh in comparison but keeping in mind the cost and sport touring nature of the tire I couldn't be happier with it. It grips well but does require some break in so be mindful of this. I have put a couple of hundred miles on it and it rides and wears well enough for the price.

Raven 009 Pro's and Con's
This is my second set of Ravens. First set went over 11,900 miles and front could have gone another 5K. Pros: very good millage, good handling and good wet weather traction. Cons: These are not cold weather tires! In temps below 70 tires will not warm up, not so good grip in dry or wet. Hard ride and handling. RECOMENDATION: If your looking for a long distance, long wearing super slab tires that can handle twisties in warm to hot temps, these tire are Da Bomb! BUT, if your riding tight canyons in all temps and expecting crazy glue traction, this is not the tire! Pick your tires for your riding style! These are long distance, high millage tires that can handle some sporting activities. Also great for dally commuting!

I was a bit suspect of Shinco tires with such a low price, but the rear tire feels more forgiving in hard lean angle turns. My old Pilot roads seem harsher in turns and less handling confidence on my SV1000S.
