metzler tire
This is an exact replacement tire for my 1998 vfr1000 honda sport-bike. The tire handles, hooks-up, and corners excellent! I love it. Motorcycle Superstore saved me about $75.00 on purchase price, good buy, and good product.

I love new tires...
And I love these Metzeler tires. On my VFR800 the ride, response, compliance and feedback is superior to the Dunlop GT Qualifiers they replaced. They are stable in straight line tracking but turn in easily. Adjusting the arc of a turn while leaned over is confidence inspiring. Grip is outstanding. I have more confidence in my ability to get the most out of my bike.

Great handling
This is a great tire. It is my 2nd rear tire, I have a matching front tire as well. These are on A 2004 Honda Interceptor 800. It made my bike feel more agile in the corners compared to the stock dunlops that the bike came with. They are also very grippy. For the price I think they are an excellent buy. As far as durability goes, I got 4500 miles on it before I could see steel cords. I don't know what average wear is for tires on rockets so I gave it a 3 for durability. I ride moderately hard with very quick acceleration and fast take offs almost every time I get on it. They also seem to perform well in wet weather, although I limit my cornering when it’s wet.

Metzler rear tire
About a year ago my local Honda dealership installed a set of tires on my 1999 VFR. This was not the tire of choice but all they had in stock. After taking a 1,000.00 trip from Jacksonville to the mountains of Ga, SC,NC,TN I am very pleased with the compound combination. A few months ago I had a rear tire blowout (not the tires fault). Recently I replaced the tire to have a matching set. I have to admit that I was not very familiar with Metzler but because of the feel and confidence these tires give me I see no reason to change.

Although not as durable as the M3, in my opinion it’s outwearing the Dunlop Sportmaxx that it replaced. And I must say it feels even more confident in the corners than the Dunlop. It warms up very quickly and sticks well most temperatures I’ve ridden in. I have used this tire in the hot summer, to the wet winter times and feel confident that the bike will do exactly what I tell it to do. I am pleasantly surprised at how durable the thing is. Two years on it and it’s still about 50%. The Sportmaxx only lasted 1 year. And to speak more about the grip: I ride an old sport bike (92 GSX-R 1100) and she’s heavy by today’s standards… however, the M1 has enough grip that I actually scraped Yoshi pipe on the pavement in some hard corners (sure we all hit pegs now and then, but the pipe…?) and stuck flawlessly. There’s even enough grip that it pulls the front tire up when coming out of the corners confidently, just like the motoGP bikes. Overall, hey, I recommend it. Motorcycle Superstore was far away the lowest price. Thanks guys.

Good Tire for the price
I'm driving a 97YZF750 with V&H carbon fiber exhaust, and other cosmetic modifications. I replaced the factory front tire with a Metzeler M1 Sportec, and loved it. These tires don't grab road grooves as bad as other tread patterns, and the traction is great, so I replaced the worn back tire with one too. Motorcycle Superstore saved me almost $100 on the price. My local dealership wanted $240 for the tire that I got for $145 here. And, that included free shipping.

Metzeler M1
I really love this tire. This is my second time purchasing this tire and it really changes how well the bike can handle. I ride a CBR1000rr6. I know lots of people love the Pilot series, but Metzeler’s M1's will role with any other brand anytime. My next set will be the M3's. BTW, I have been getting about 5K on miles with these tires and they stick like glue even when I am wheeling out of a corner. In fact, I get full lean angles without even feeling like I’m that low due to comfort.

Slipped a 'Busa spec. "P" on the rear of my V-Max, held up to a track day just fine, no wiggle, no slide, just grip all the way over. Don't expect to see more than 3k on the mileage, but that goes with the territory when you own a 'Max.

The Best on Street Tires for guys
This is the best set of tires I have ever had. I ride a Hayabusa 2000 and these tires stick to the road no matter what. They are stable at high speed. For people who rate this tire bad when they are running a mix match is unfair. Keep in mind that construction and profile between brands are different. Run your tires in sets, then talk.

Excellent Grip
These front and rear tires are on my 04' Honda Interceptor. They instantly out performed the factory Dunlop’s. Grip was better, no slips yet with harder cornering, plus the bike seemed much more agile. I have nothing else to compare it too for durability besides the Dunlop sportecs, but I have approximately 2k miles on the tires and I have about 1/4 tread left in the center. I have a bad habit of seeing how fast I can hit triple digits. So my fault on tire wear. Excellent tire. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

Great tire for the money. This is the second set I've had. I have gotten better mileage on them than any Dunlop 207/ 208 , just as sticky, and good in the rain. I can't wait to try the M3's.

The tire has awesome handling and grip behind my cbr 954 it goes when I want it to, no hesitation to torque up and show off. The tread pattern is nice but I only have about 1200 miles on the tire and it is about half wore out I may go to something a little harder next time and just ease off the throttle a bit.

Outstanding customer service! Order shipped out four hours after the order was placed. I received the tire the next day. Tire works well in all conditions here in the Pacific Northwest. Good high speed and wet weather handling. Dealer tried to sell me a M3 with a Z speed rating 149 MPH for forty dollars more. M1's have a W speed rating 168 MPH. Keep up the good work Motorcycle Superstore you guys are the best!

Wear out fast, really poor in cold weather, square off after 50 miles.
I purchased only the rear tire; it matched my OEM Bridgestone front tire, which made my bike nervous and generally unpleasant to ride. The tread pattern caused the tire to square off almost immediately even though almost all of my riding is done on twisty hills and it only lasted about 3k miles. The tire is very sticky once warm (takes longer than normal to warm up) but the feel characteristics are poor, going from total traction to total loss of traction where my Bridgestone tires had very predictable grip (generally low) but at least the Bridgestone tires never high-sided me with very un-aggressive throttle input even in 50 degree weather and two slow miles of warm-up.

This tire has excellent grip and good wear life. A good buy for the money. I don't care for the front though, not much of a confidence maker on twisties. Warm up time needed on both but more so on the front.

A Great Tire in General
I used to run Michelin Pilot Powers, but I found that during the weekday commute they would wear a flat spot easily; great tires nonetheless. I ended up buying a bike that had Metzeler M1's on it and I'm now on my second set. These are great tires. The tires are on a liter bike, and I commute during the week and ride the canyons once or twice a week. In commuting they are very reliable and have great traction in dry and wet conditions. The tread is plenty deep, and redirects water very well. I've not had any issues with loosing traction due to the tires. On the twisties these things stick. They heat up quickly and keep a good amount of even heat in them. I run a 180 rear, which I find to be much more agile in the corners than the 190. That's one thing I really like about the M1's: they have great geometry and allow a nice lean angle without jeopardizing the traction patch. As for durability, my last set I obtained used with the bike, so I'm not sure how many miles were already on them. I ended up getting 2,000 miles out of the rear + whatever was on it already; the front took a nail and was replaced long before it needed to be. As of now, the new set is holding up well and it is harder to wear a flat spot in them compared to the Pilot Powers. The only thing I don't like about the M1's, which has nothing to do with their quality or performance, is that the rubber injection fingers are located all over the sidewalls. I don't know if this was just my batch, or if that's normal. Again, not that big of a deal, but not the nicest looking touch. All in all, great tires for a great price.

Good price. They go for along time but they don’t stick to the road as I thought they did. I was approaching a turn going, lets say 35mph and my bike came right out underneath me. And the road was clean too. I should have invested in a jacket, or a better tire.

Good tires for the price
I was an avid fan of the Bridgestone bt-010 for a long time, but this tire is pretty good. I just purchased my second Sportec and can say that I got 3500 miles out of a rear, which is not as good as the Bridgestone BT 010 but far better than a Michelin Sport. For the price from Motorcycle Superstore Online the Metzeler is a good compromise between cost and performance. I'm still getting used to the neutral feel but they haven't broken loose yet.

I bought this tire and I don’t think I will use another tire or brand. I put them on my 06 GSXR 600 and they work great. I have used Metzlers for 13 years and prefer them over any other brand I have tried. The side wall is slightly softer than a Dunlop and the profile is "rounder" making transitions very smooth. I currently use these on my '02 RC51 and think they provide excellent grip and handling. You can't beat the price either

I was introduced to these by a buddy that ran them on his Triumph. We both rode on our bikes everyday, but I noticed my Michelins wore out 2X faster. great performance and value
I've run Metzlers on my Ducati Monster 750 since I bought it new in 2001. I've always been pleased with their handling, wear, performance, and value. The M-1 Sportec continues that trend. This is my second set of Sportecs, front and rear. Absolutely satisfied.

This is my second set on my '04 BMW R1100S--great traction, smooth transitions. But, tend to follow pavement irregularities/rain grooves--not confidence inspiring. Thanks to Hurricane Katrina, I was lucky enough to get a nail in the stock Dunlops on my 05 R6. Great excuse to try some new tires. Sportec M-1 vs Dunlop 207 & Bridgestone Battleax
I hate to disagree with everyone but I was disappointed in the M-1 Sportec. I can say for riding back and forth to work they are good because they last a long time. But taking a turn at 70+ mph I did not feel the confidence. The M-1 is a harder compound rubber, so in the turns you feel it drifting. This is was on a 2002 gsxr 750. I believe, the stock tire was a Dunlop 207 and even though the rear wore out quickly, in the turns you feel confident. I have only been riding a couple years so I didn'

I replaced OEM Bridgestone BT-011 on my CBR 929 with the sportecs. I bought these from motorcycle superstore after researching tires to restore my confidence after a crash. Probably the best tire that I have used to date. The turn in characteristics are outstanding. I normally only used Dunlops (207's + 208's) in the past but have now chosen these M-1's as my first pick. They warm up quick and stick excellent. The m1's were my third set of tires on my 2002 R1 and they are hands down the best I've riden. I had 207's and 208's previously, and the M1's are much nicer in all respects except wear.
